How the Spanish Audio Bible is Used to Carry the Word of God

A Spanish audio Bible is a great way to bring the Bible to life for anyone who speaks Spanish or is bilingual. One of the most important benefits of audio Bibles are that they now come in many different formats that can be used in a variety of settings that printed versions are not. For example, you can listen to an online audio Bible on your computer while you are taking your lunch break. You can listen to an MP3 audio Bible on your iPod while you are at the gym, on bike ride, or going for a run. You can even sign up to get daily Podcast audio Bible downloads that concentrate on a favorite reading or psalm in the Bible. There are many different formats and options to choose from if you have access to a CD player, MP3 player or a computer with an internet connection.

Access to the Bible has not always been this easy. Until the 15th Century, hardly anyone had a copy of the Bible and the scriptures were only read in Latin when parishioners attended church. When the Bible was first mass-produced on a printing press in 1455, it opened up the door for the Bible to be bought by people who had the means to afford it.

Since that time, many different Christian organizations have worked hard to make sure that Bible translations have been completed for hundreds of different languages of cultures spanning the globe. In fact, Spanish audio Bibles and Bibles on CD are now regularly used to help spread the Word of God to underdeveloped regions Central and South America. Since many of the people who live in small villages cannot read, live readings of the Bible and taped audio Bibles are the only way they can hear it. When volunteers bring villagers audio Bibles for listening groups, it is even possible for some of them to learn how to read by following along in printed versions. Many volunteers decide to volunteer for that reason alone.

If you are interested in using audio Bibles to increase the time you spend learning the lessons of the Bible, you can easily do so today. There are also many websites that allow you to donate Spanish audio Bibles and players so they can be used to help teach the Bible to those who might never hear it otherwise - that is truly a gift from God that will be appreciated by all.

Obama's escalation in Afghanistan, should Christians take a side?

By: Aaron Taylor | 03/12/2009
On the eve of the election last November, I wrote a thinly-veiled endorsement of Barack Obama and blasted it out to my friends and family. Now after listening to President Obama's speech trying to sell the American people on his decision to escalate the war in Afghanistan, there's a verse of Scripture that's taken on a profound new significance, "Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man in whom there is no help" (Psalm 146:3).

Our Want Met by Rodney Howard Browne

By: Cecil Merritt | 03/12/2009
Across the Bible, we see God reaching out to His creation to attempt to save and revive. Naturally, nowhere is this more obvious than in the New Testament and especially in the Gospels through the life of His son. Jesus came to earth to find and save those that were spiritually lost and bound by sin. By His own profession, He makes this clear when He tells His supporters that he didn't come to judge humankind, but to save the lost from an endless death ( John 3:17 ). Frequently ...
