In the Bible But not in the Quran (41): a Very Beautiful Young Virgin to Keep King David Warm

A very beautiful young virgin to keep King David warm in the Bible:

In 1 Kings 1:1-4, the Bible declares that King David was old and well advanced in years; he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him. His servants brought him a very beautiful young virgin to attend King David and take care of him. She can lie beside King David so that he keeps warm.
This story is not present in the Noble Quran, the book which forbids saying anything that could put any prophet down.

1 Kings 1:1-4 in different versions of the Bible:

New International Version (NIV)

1 When King David was old and well advanced in years, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him. 2 So his servants said to him, "Let us look for a young virgin to attend the king and take care of him. She can lie beside him so that our lord the king may keep warm."
3 Then they searched throughout Israel for a beautiful girl and found Abishag, a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
4 The girl was very beautiful; she took care of the king and waited on him, but the king had no intimate relations with her.

American Standard Version (ASV)

1 Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat.
2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and cherish him; and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the borders of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
4 And the damsel was very fair; and she cherished the king, and ministered to him; but the king knew her not.

King James Version (KJV)

1Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he gat no heat.
2Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
3So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
4And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king knew her not.

A very beautiful young virgin to keep King David warm in the Quran:

There is no such story in the Noble Quran.
However, King David is mentioned many times in the Noble Quran as for example:
In the verse 38:17, Allah, exalted is He says:

Allah, exalted is He says:

Bear O Muhammad with what they say in your rejection, and remember Our bondman David; He says: mention to them the event of Our slave David, the one of fortitude, the lord of might who had strength for our worship.
He was obedient, always engaged in the worship of Allah.
Lo! He was ever turning in repentance towards Allah,
Indeed he was a penitent [soul]; always returning to what pleases Allah.
According to the Noble Quran, it is a very big unforgiving sin to say or to believe in anything that dishonors any Prophet.
King David was a great Prophet who is very well respected and beloved.
---------------

Verse 38:17 in different translations:

QARIB:
Bear patiently with what they say, and remember our worshiper David, a man of might. He was ever turning in repentance.

SHAKIR:
Bear patiently what they say, and remember our servant David, the possessor of power; surely he was frequent m returning (to Allah)

PICKTHAL:
Bear with what they say, and remember our bondman David, lord of might, lo! he was ever turning in repentance (toward Allah).

YUSUFALI:
Have patience at what they say, and remember our servant David, the man of strength: for he ever turned (to Allah).

Why you are a worker?

By: olu mike omoasegun | 08/12/2009
As workers in the vineyard of the Lord, we should pause, and ask ourselves this important question: Why am I a worker? Failure to do this has led many to handle the service and work of God with carelessness, non-chalet and carefree attitudes. Many are what they like, the way they like and at the time they like, simply because they don’t know why they are workers. Others are non-committal and ineffective because they have the wrong notion of why they are workers in His vineyard.
