Listen to The Lord's Word Christian Faith News

How well do I know God? Absence of understanding about God's personality and what pleases Him obstructs listening.
Do I suspect that God wants to talk to me? A poor self-image is one reason we have lifeless hearing. Do I live with a sense of guilt? When we think devil's lies about not measuring up to God's standard, we experience fake guilt, and our listening talents reduce.
Have I been too busy to take time for God? The Lord expects us to hear Him and reply, even in our busyness. Do I think God speaks through His Holy Spirit? When we have unbelief about God speaking to us personally, we will not hear His voice.
Am I indignant with God? Over time, God-directed hate can close our heart to His words. Have I made a choice on how I need God to answer? When we have got a rebellious spirit, we close our ears to any solution but our own. How well do I receive feedback and correction? Our inclination is to reject the messenger without determining if she or he was sent by God. ( Luke 8:18a ) now would be a good time to obey.
How pleased he is's to see your faith shine as you help folks. Your'service' might be a pleasant smile, a provoking word, or a listening ear. In different eventualities, God may ask you to sacrifice your time or give freely of your resources. The love God gives you for others will prompt you to make a little time for them and not count the price .
As you pour yourself into loving them, you can discover a feeling of accomplishment and joy. Serving in Jesus' name also means that you are acting in submission to His authority - to elucidate, doing things in His way and time. To live out your religion is to depend on the Lord God's power.

Only by yielding to His control can your work yield real non earthly fruit. People will know your religion is real when your actions exalt God and not yourself. As messengers of Christ, we must serve with excellence so that God receives the glory He merits. Watch for God's signals and be in a position to act with an enthusiasm to live out your faith.
Paul knew that staying together was the way to their survival. The enticement was tough to abandon ship and let each person fend for himself. But Paul warned that allowing the men to flee meant certain death. Our wish in awful straits is to chop and run.
It's easier now to stroll out of a nervous marriage than to face it and work toward restoration. Man's nature wants to retreat to a place where every one of us can be all alone, lock the door, and pull the blinds. Unfortunately some turn to alcohol, drugs, or worse, to a revolver.
If that in any way describes you, you need the support of family, chums, and particularly God's people. Its better to lower the dinghy and jump in all alone. Instead, I counsel you to remain with others on board ship. Don't jump and try to make it on your own. Stay in touch with folks who love you the most, who will be with you regardless of what. You would like the presence of God's folks surrounding you when the bottom dropped out of your life.

Soul Winning Strategy

By: Phillip Ross | 28/11/2009
Paul went for the real gusto, Jesus Christ by becoming all things to all people. Christ calls us to do more than we think we can. He calls us all to exceed our own expectations because He has sent His Holy Spirit to dwell with His people to accomplish for them -- for us -- what we cannot of ourselves accomplish.

What does God Require of Me?

By: Stephen Stillman | 28/11/2009
God is our heavenly Father, and as our Father it is easy for us to become dependent on Him when we are in need. In our dependency on God we expect Him to do what we ask. The Word of God tells us that we are to ask and we will be given, but that doesn’t mean God is required to do what we ask. The Word of God tells us that it is us who are obligated, and God has requirements of us. What exactly does God require?

By: Prof.dr. Ibrahim Khalil | 27/11/2009
The Bible says that 1) Job was perfect, 2) Job cursed the day of his birth and 3) Job said unto God: Turn away from me so I can have a moment's joy; let me alone before I go whence I shall not return. The Quran says that none of Allah's Prophets including Job could say that unto their Lord.

A Simple Servant by Rodney Howard Browne

By: Stephen Schwartz | 27/11/2009
No words can describe what took place in that tiny upstairs bedroom when the corpse started to stir and Elijah saw life returning to the boy's body. No words can describe being in the middle of such a trial and then watching God, in an a miracle moment or period, work it out. Only you who've been there can nod, smile, and say,'Amen. I know exactly what you are describing ; I've seen God do it.'. That's what we could have done, or maybe that is what some televangelist might do, b...

Trust In Me by Rodney Howard Browne

All David had was a sling and a stone as he took on a giant wearing 200 pounds of armor. It may appear stupid, but that's the way God operates. In the final research, there had been a whoosh, whoosh, whoosh-one stone flew thru the air, and that is's all there had been to it. I am not sure what your menacing giant is today. It may relate to your job, your roommate, or your varsity. Perhaps it is a person, a legal action, unemployment, a tragedy. Perhaps it is some worry that's ...
