The Seal and the Life-saving Stem Cell Discovery

The Seal is the imprint God prints Life on you with. Life is precious to God--He gives it and does not want to take it away. Stem cell research up until now has threatened life. But a new discovery changed all that.

Embryonic stem cells were found to be able to take on the characteristics of other cells. So they could mold to cells of a diseased tissue and fit perfectly in all ways except one. They would not have the disease.

But embryonic stem cells needed to be fertilized in order to be activated for this process. That meant that an actual human life would be created for the sole purpose of dying as young as possible just to heal another living person.

That has definitely raised red flags. It is an ethical nightmare. Creating and destroying human life for the benefit of a sick person is wrong on its own. And it would lead to much more killing as an accepted practice.

Those early discoveries excited the devil. He wanted to see people put them into practice without any further research. He wanted to see the killing of the young become commonplace and accepted.

And God was waiting to inspire the right scientists at the right moment. Fortunately we have scientists all around the world working so God can slip a little divine sense into the experiments. And His knowledge is perfect.

Two scientists--one in Wisconsin and one in Japan--discovered it at almost the same time. It seems that ordinary human skin cells can act just like embryonic stem cells and conform to other cell characteristics.

Five months ago this had been done in mice. Nobody thought it would be so easy to replicate it in humans or that the discovery would come so quickly. It certainly is a godsend.

The technique is called "direct reprogramming." A person will be able to donate cells for cloning. Once they are cloned they can be retransplanted in that person to replace unhealthy cells without rejection.

Otherwise there is always the serious complication of cells being rejected by the body. Previously it was only known that embryonic stem cells would be automatically accepted by cells in an unhealthy area. Now all that has changed.

The "cloning" approach with fertilized embryonic stem cells no longer needs to be used. And scientists were not happy with the old cloning approach. Apparently it was not developed enough to be cheap and easy enough to be used widely.

But the ethical dilemma far outweighed the scientific challenges. President Bush vetoed bills two different times that introduced Federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. And now there is no reason for any further research like that.

This is only the conception of this idea though. It will take some time until it grows into a child and then a mature adult discovery. It will need years to grow up and develop into a practical, inexpensive, simple method of healing.

The potential for healing is immense. These healthy cells can "become" unhealthy cells and replace them. Nothing like this has ever been possible for people before. This is the dawn of a new era.

What once was a shameful, dark secret has become a bright and shining star. What once spawned life just to snuff it out again has transformed into the promise of healing many people.

God wants to heal you. And He wants to give you life. He has blessed two different scientists using different methods in different places with this new knowledge. And He wants to give you new knowledge about being sealed.
