Views on Death

Death has become something discussed in hushed tones and with piety by most religious ministers. Why is death such a terrible subject to explore?

Perhaps it is because we are afraid of the unknown. The religious concepts are so limiting with the Christian extremes of heaven and hell, when, in all reality, there is so much more to the afterlife.

Death is called when the heart has stopped pumping blood into the body and the brain has been starved of oxygen and dies. As this is only describing the activity of the physical body, what has actually transpired?

For those that can see beyond the material vibration, they witness a separation of body and spirit which occurs with the severing of a silver cord. The spirit/soul has animated kept the activities of the physical/material body alive and functioning.

When the spirit exits, there is no longer a life force in the body and it will decay and return to dust in the material world. The spirit, however, has so much more to accomplish. It takes all the experiences learned while in the material body and proceeds to expand and enhance them in the spirit world where spirituality is the lesson.

Death itself can be a bit traumatic. We have a consciousness that continues throughout the whole process. So while we may 'die' in the material body, we are still alive in the spirit body.

We can not function as usual, no one seems to hear or see us, they are too concerned with our material body, which we, as a whole being, have exited. Tears and mourning make us feel bad, because we know we exist in spirit.

Progress is to move forward into the light and see what is yet to come. We are still 'alive' in spirit and there must be a purpose for this existence. While it is difficult to leave the known aspects of our lives and the people we love, it is important to always look forward to progress.

Understanding the progression of our soul, while we are yet in our body, helps us to recognize that there is 'more' to come and we must be prepared to move into it with all our attention and love.
