The factor is the 'rising sign', i.e. the sign of the zodiac that is on the horizon at the time of birth. At whatever date a person is born it is possible for him or her to have any one of the 12 zodiacal signs namely the Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.
It is very important to find out the good and evil planets for each zodiac so that at the time of prediction it will be an easier task to analyze the various combinations of the good and the evils. If the ascendant is:
1.Aries: Saturn, Mercury and Venus are ill disposed. Jupiter and the Sun are auspicious. The mere combination of Jupiter and Saturn produces no beneficial effects. Planet like Saturn will bring about death to the person.

3.Gemini: Mars, Jupiter and Sun are evil. Venus alone produces very beneficial effects. In conjunction with Saturn in good sign, Venus produces an excellent career of much fame. Venus and Mercury when well associated produce Raja Yoga.
4.Cancer: Venus and Mercury are evil. Jupiter and Mars give beneficial results. The combination of Mars and Jupiter produce Raja Yoga. Venus and other inauspicious planets kill the native.
5.Leo: Mars is the most auspicious and favorable planet. The combination of Jupiter and Venus does not cause Raja Yoga. Saturn, Venus and Mercury are evil. Saturn does not kill the native but Mercury and other evil planets inflict death when they get maraca powers.
6.Virgo: Venus alone is the most powerful. Mercury and Venus when combined together produce the Raja Yoga. Mars and Moon are evil. The sun does not kill the native, but Venus, the Moon and Jupiter inflict death.
7.Libra: Saturn alone causes the Raja Yoga. Jupiter, the Sun and Mars are inauspicious. Mercury and Saturn produce good effects. The conjunction of the Moon and the Mercury produces the Raja Yoga. Mars does not kill the person.
8.Scorpio: Jupiter is beneficial. The Sun and the Moon produces the Raja Yoga. Mercury and Venus are evil. Jupiter does not inflict death.
9.Sagittarius: Mars is the best planet and in conjunction with the Jupiter produces excellent effects. Venus is evil. The sun and the Mars also produce good effects. Saturn does not bring death to the native.
10.Capricorn: Venus is the most powerful and in conjunction with Mercury produces Raja Yoga. Mars, Jupiter and the Moon are evil.
11.Aquarius: Venus alone is auspicious. The combination of Venus and Mars causes Raja Yoga. Jupiter and Moon are evil.
12.Pisces: The Moon and the Mars are auspicious. Mars is most powerful. Mars with the Moon and Jupiter causes Raja Yoga. Saturn, Venus, the Sun and the Mercury are evil.
