Which Style is Best Suited to Your Needs?
With all of these options available, you may be uncertain which style or mounting option is right for you.
- Exterior Walls: Brackets are the ideal way to attach a lantern to an exterior wall, providing adequate light in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Entryways: Hanging is the best way of lighting an entryway. There are many different ways to hang a lantern, and nearly all styles of lanterns are able to be fitted with the appropriate facets to be suspended. Monte Carlo Style lanterns look particularly lovely over an entryway.
- Driveways or Walkways: Post mounted lanterns, particularly the French Quarter style due to the light-emanating nature of their tops, are ideal for lighting a path such as a driveway or walkway.
- Indoors: The best lantern choice for indoors is an electric lantern, however gas and propane powered lanterns can also be a great choice if positioned safely.
- Gas or Electric: While gas lanterns provide a unique look, in some cases electric power is simply more feasible. One of the advantages of French Quarter style lanterns is that every style can be fitted to function with natural gas, propane, or electricity.
