How To Keep Your UPVC Conservatory And French Doors Looking As Good As New

Over the past twenty or so years there has been a big change in the way that many of our homes look. This can be attributed to the use of UPVC for making our windows, doors and conservatories. When it is time to replace your windows and doors many people are choosing to replace their traditional wooden windows with UPVC windows and doors. And due to the relatively low cost of UPVC and its sustainability we have seen a massive increase in the amount of homes with conservatories. A conservatory can be a great addition to any home. It is no wonder they have become so popular, they help to add much needed space, can be used for a multitude of purposes and they are affordable. However one question which is asked a lot is how do you keep a UPVC conservatory or for that matter any other UPVC product such as double glazing or French doors clean?

When new UPVC products such as conservatories and French doors are fitted they literally sparkle but how do you keep them looking so good as they do require some maintenance. It is recommended that you clean your conservatory and French doors on a regular basis. This will help to reduce the build up of dirt which can sometimes discolour or even worse corrode your conservatory. Regular cleaning will help to reduce the build up of dirt therefore limiting the risks.

However cleaning your conservatory and French doors is often easier said than done. They are usually quite large so cleaning them can be a daunting job. You are probably best splitting the job up. If you have someone that can help you great as many hands make light work. However if there is no one that can help you then dividing the job up is probably best. Maybe split the jobs into inside and outside, perhaps one day focus on the roof, the next day the UPVC and another the day the glass you get my drift.

Cleaning the outside of a conservatory usually takes longer than the inside as the inside is sheltered however the outside is exposed to all that the British weather can throw at it. Waiting for a day when the weather is nice will make to job far more enjoyable, although be careful as if the sun is shining too brightly you may find that the windows will dry streaky. There are a couple of things which you need to consider before you start to make sure you get the job done properly. It is probably best to start at the top and work your way down so work should commence on the roof first. The next step will be the gutters probably the messiest of all the jobs as you will find there will be a build up of leaves and twigs. The next job is much nicer cleaning the frame of your conservatory. This only requires soapy water to keep your conservatory looking as good as new. And finally probably the most rewarding job of all is cleaning the windows. When cleaned you will find that these make a big difference.

When it comes to cleaning French doors or any other UPVC product for that matter you need to take the same approach. Start at the top and work your way down and it is essential that you do it regularly to keep you home looking as good as possible.
