While you may think a NJ house painter is a house painter, think again. There are many things to consider when hiring a NJ painting contractor. You want to match the contractor to the job. When looking at painting contractors you will find that most have some sort of specialty.
You don’t want to be disappointed in the work performed, only to find that you hired the wrong contractor to paint your home. Industrial painters differ from commercial painters which differ from house painters, each possessing different skills, experience and expertise.
A Quick Review of Types of Painting Contractors
Commercial painters use specialized equipment to reach the heights required to paint hotels, casinos, movie theaters and malls, and they usually employ large crews of workers. They may be involved in painting multiple buildings at the same time, so they may even have to work at night in empty buildings.
Industrial painters generally work on storage tanks, steel structures, bridges, water towers, etc. Their expertise lies in applying protective coatings, sandblasting surfaces, abrasion, steam cleaning, chemical treatments and other methods that homeowners will probably never require.
New construction painters can be sub-contractors that work for builders and general contractors. Their main focus is spray painting interiors - using off-white builder’s solution/paint throughout the entire building to hide various surface imperfections.
And last, but not least, there are residential house painting companies who specialize in custom finish painting.
Residential custom finish painters work directly with the homeowner. This requires excellent customer service and communication skills, high quality standards and attention to detail, as well as an understanding of the homeowner’s needs and concerns.
Such painters work in fully furnished and occupied houses. It’s important that they be skilled in working around the homeowner’s daily life. They must keep the work area contained, being careful to protect furniture, flooring, decorations and other surfaces not scheduled to be painted. On a daily basis they must clean up the area. There should be no loud music, and they should schedule work on consecutive days, stick to the schedule and meet the promised deadline.
Residential painting contractors must be knowledgeable in products and materials for different surfaces and situations. On any given job they may be painting wood or aluminum, a beat-up exterior or a new-born baby room and everything in between. A residential painter needs the ability to apply any kind of finish such as wood staining, faux finishing and others that help personalize a house and make it feel more like a home.
Obviously the four sectors are very different. It's impossible to be an expert in all of them, even though some painting contractors claim will they are. Take the time to investigate what the painter specializes in since your satisfaction depends on matching the project to the appropriate type of painting contractor.

By: Fred Powers | 23/12/2009UPVC windows started out as simply a cost effective way of replacing standard and old windows. UPVC windows came out with heritage completely pushed out of the picture. These windows had very few models offered when they came out and people still jumped all over them like a turkey on thanks giving. Sellers juiced up UPVC windows, saying that they would never loose their color and that they require no maintenance at all for years. It turned out that those UPVC windows did loose their...

Fight the winter chill with Double Glazing in Bolton
By: Phil Adams-Wright | 23/12/2009Winter is a miserable time of year for some people; the weather doesn’t help matters as being cold tends to put most people in a poor mood. Our homes are thought of as a safe haven from the cold outside with many of us reluctant to leave the warmth of our own bed in the morning during winter. This is great but for some people the cold can even get into their homes and leave them huddled round the fire or hugging the nearest radiator for a bit of warmth
Rejuvenate your home with double glazing windows in Manchester
By: Phil Adams-Wright | 23/12/2009Windows are important features to our homes, offices and any other buildings, they are needed to not only let light in but also to keep the outside elements where they belong; outside. A lot of older homes though do not have windows that effectively keep the cold air outside our homes; the majority of these are single paned, uninsulated windows that can cost us extra money on heating bills we would rather not have to pay.
Build a Shed Roof - Looking at the Options
By: Philip | 22/12/2009When the time comes to build a roof for your shed, there are a few options available to you. I am assuming in this article, that the shed which needs a roof is made out of wood. You can have the traditional shed roof which reaches its highest point down the centre of the construction, or you could have a sloping roof. One which slopes from a high point on one side of the shed.
Wood Shed Kits - Getting More Storage Space
By: Philip | 22/12/2009Wood shed kits are an ideal way to expand your storage space in the backyard. Wood is a good choice of material to use, as metal is subject to rusting and vinyl can be expensive. Vinyl also tends not to look so good as a wooden structure, in my opinion. There are a few considerations to think about before laying out your hard earned money in buying one of these.
Backyard Shed Storage - Utilising Available Space
By: Philip | 22/12/2009The longer you live in the same house you will find that, over time, you will want to change things around in the house. Furniture tends to come and go, beds, chairs, tables, and the like. The problem arises when you have to decide whether to part company with the furniture you are replacing or whether to keep it.
