Disney World Dining - Liberty Tree Tavern

Located at the entrance to Liberty Square from Foot Bridge near Cinderella's Castle, across from the Liberty Square Riverboat, this colonial theme dining location has artifacts and furnishings that provide a comfortable atmosphere while you enjoy your meal. Comprised of six comfortable rooms, this dining location provides a pleasant respite from the bustle outside. The windows in this authentic recreation of a colonial inn were made by 18th-century casting methods.

The Liberty Tree Tavern serves lunch and dinner and although the menu is influenced by New England fare, there are plenty of other choices to choose from that will satisfy your appetite.

During dinner hours, Liberty Tree Tavern used to be a character dining location but as of January 2009, it longer offers character dining. I only mentioned this just in case you heard there were characters here. There used to be, but not anymore.

For future references, this restaurant is very popular and can get quite busy. If there are a lot of people when you arrive, try to stay as close to the podium as you can. If they call your name and you don't answer, they will put your name back into the calling basket. Because this location can get a bit busy, your service may not be as great. Since there may be hundreds of people in the restaurant at a time, service can get a bit backed up.

On the other hand, if you arrive when the place is almost ghost town, then you're definitely in good shape. This will most likely happen on a rainy day or a time of the year when Disney World isn't as crowded. You'll probably get better service and you're attended to more often around this time.

The Liberty Tree Tavern doesn't have a huge menu, but it's fair. There's something on the menu that everyone will like. They basically serve Thanksgiving type food, but they also have other menu items as well.

Appetizers include: Maryland crab cakes and Tavern fried cheese. Soups and salads include the Declaration salad, New England clam chowder and Today's soup kettle.

Entrees for lunch include: the Angus chuck cheeseburger, the Colony salad, New England pot roast, salmon club sandwiches, Pilgrims feast, the Tri-Corner sandwich, Vegetarian noodle bowl and William Penn chicken pasta. Dinner entrees include the Patriot's platter which is roasted turkey breast, carved beef, and smoked pork loin, with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb bread stuffing, and Stouffer's macaroni & cheese.

The selection of desserts include: Caramel apple tart, Seasonal no sugar added sorbet, Strawberry shortcake and Three-chocolate brownie. Drinks include Patriot's punch, Pirate's punch, bottled water (Still or Sparkling), espresso and fresh orange juice.

Lunch hours vary with the park hours. Dinner hours are from 4pm and vary with the park hours. Menu items are under $20.00 per person.

The Liberty Tree Tavern is a fun themed restaurant. All though they no longer offer characters, it's still one of the nicest dining locations to experience in the Magic Kingdom, and a place that the whole family is sure love
