San Diego Restaurants for the rich and famous, as well as their inexpensive counterparts

There are many restaurants to choose from along with nightlife in San Diego, and with the high cost of living, and low employment rates, it can be difficult to find one that will not break the bank. I have compiled a list that is mixed with those that won’t break the bank, as well their counterparts that might break the bank a bit, but are worth every penny on those special occasions.

Wallet-Friendly Selections:
1) Crest Cafe: This colorful café located in Hillcrest will keep you coming back for more. With a menu as extensive as a diner, yet an ambiance similar to a café, you are sure to find hearty, healthy comfort food. For affordable eats, friendly, speedy service and enough food to take home leftovers, this is the way to go.
2) Fleming’s Steaks and Wine Bar: This moderate steakhouse has high-quality beef, good portion sizes, and happy hour options that will knock your socks off. For quality steaks and delectable wines, you cannot find a better deal than Fleming’s.
3) Ebisu: For fine sushi, this sushi bar in Hillcrest will not disappoint. Their menu is extensive, but for San Diego, their prices are extremely reasonable. This place has freshness and quality, without all the muss and fuss.

The Finer Things:
1) Broken Yolk Café: This breakfast spot has all the selections of an east-coast diner, and the quality of an upscale restaurant. While it might not be what you planned on spending for breakfast, you can easily split something and be full. They even offer a Broken Yolk Special that is about the size of a large pizza. If you can eat the entire thing in an hour you get it for free! For freshness and flavor, this breakfast spot will have you leaving full and smiling.
2) Donovan’s Steakhouse: Big steak, big portions, big prices, big satisfaction. That’s what you can expect from Donovan’s. You truly get what you pay for here, and you get a lot. Their tender steaks are exquisite, whether you visit their La Jolla location or the one in the Gaslamp Quarter.
3) Nobu: Hands down, best sushi dining experience you can get. If you like bold flavors, risky combinations, and the true flavors of natural ingredients and raw fish, this is the place for you. Sushi rookies and connoisseurs will be blown away by the famed Nobu Matsuhiya’s combinations.
