Avoiding Job Resume Red Flags

There are certain job resume red flags that hiring managers look into that would elicit an irritated reaction among them. It is important for job applicants to know about them and make sure that they make the necessary adjustments to either address or readily provide explanations for managers and employers to make them understand. Here are some of the more common ones:

No Contact Information

Although it might be quite basic, still many job applicants forget to include a home address or telephone number that managers and employers may be able to contact in case they find some resumes interesting. Failure to update one's contact information is also a common mistake among many job applicants. Having them wrong in your job resume automatically makes you lose out on many good job opportunities.

Long Unemployed Periods

Even though you might have quite an extensive job experience, some hiring managers and employers may sometimes question long gaps in between jobs. In this case, you might need to explain the gap as honestly as possible. Be ready to provide all the necessary information that they may need form you to better understand such gaps in your work experience.

Lack Of Goals

Some employers and hiring managers consider goals as a big part of every employee they hire. They look forward to having employees with either career or personal goals that will provide them with direction. If you have no goals stated in your job resume, some managers may then doubt if you truly have a better sense of direction as to what to achieve in your career. This might then be easy for them to consider that lack of any personal or career goals as a possible red flag that might stop them from hiring you.
