Woman boss a pain in the neck or a breath of fresh air

Being a women and on the top of it a boss is a lethal combination to have at the workplace. Women bosses are always frowned upon by the opposite sex.

The mindset has not been changed; we still cling onto the archetypical stereotypes and dogmas. Double standards and Sexism are the by-products of our conventional thinking, for that matter.

Women have come of age, leaving behind the past conventions and beliefs, overcoming hurdles to establish themselves as leaders. They are no longer ostracized, subservient and confined to their homes; the strong opinion and level headed mind keep them at par with men. Jobs in India has seen the latest trend of women working in those domains that were earlier considered as the men’s territory. Now, you can see them working as Drivers, Police and Army officers. Women are searching jobs like never before as they are economically empowered and there is plethora of opportunities available in Indian Job Market which was earlier not there.

Success of women at every domain made her counterparts insecure and prejudiced, now-a-days; women have established their supremacy in all the fields, the professions have become unisex giving due importance to them.

Women as bosses are always considered as meek in taking crucial decisions, women are said to have their emotional quotient higher than that of her male counterparts. It is often said a women is another women’s biggest enemy and when it comes to another women being the boss, than the situation becomes even more complicated. At workplace, personal equations should be kept aside and work should be given priority, inspite of that, we come across so many instances where women are ready to go to any extent to harm her female counterparts.

An assertive and goal oriented female boss is considered ruthless and shrewd by the male counterparts; they can’t face the situation when they are made to work under them. The ego tussle between the two sexes makes it even dirtier when one tries to outshine another.

Considering female boss better than that of male boss or vice versa doesn’t hold much water

Whosoever may be the boss, he or she must know his/her work and appreciate a deserving employee. Times are changing and sex is no longer a parameter to judge a bosses’ caliber—whether the person is a male or female, the employees should respect and acknowledge his/ her single minded dedication towards work.

Just as there are many kind of male bosses in the same way there are many kind of female bosses. Both stand in equal stead; it is just a matter of our perception, a slight change in perception is where the difference is.
