Tips for Purchasing a Suit

Advice float from any nook and corner, and every fashion designer or a fashion expert would advice you on the matter of a suit. They would say that it is essential that every man has atleast one nice suit. You never can estimate when you would require a good suit for a wedding or for a business meet where formal attire is a must. Remember that a suit is always taken more seriously in any formal meet or an interview.

Unfortunately we come across a majority of suits which are almost plain and awful. This article would help you to make a better selection of your suit. A nice, well fitted suit looks good everywhere right from parties, hotels and even in weddings.  A suit is an outfit that will never make your look bad. It is the most apt choice to be considered for any business event, weddings, and parties. Some of the tips which you need to consider while you are shopping for your suit are:

Choosing the right fabric:  The kind of fabric which you should consider while  purchasing a suit is a worsted wools suit. You can go in for a mid weight coded wools. While you are shopping for a suit you will across suits that are labeled as “Super 100”, this just indicates that the yarn was twisted more often than the usual 60 – 80 twist wools and this fabric is mid weight fabric. You need to look for a fabric that retains its own shape even after being twisted without wrinkles.

The fitting of the pants: Choose trousers whose trouser you find it to be comfortable, you can probably test the comfort level by probably keeping in two fingers inside the waist while you wear them. If it fits you properly then probably the suit has the right fit. Incase you are considered to buy a pleated pant then this depends on your body type, if you are little bulkier near your stomach region then you can probably go in for a pleated trouser as this will help you to hide your extra fat area. If you are thin then you can probably go for unpleated pants. Thin people tend to appear skinnier in pleated pants.

Sleeve length: Ensure that you are wearing a suit with the exact sleeve length, this matters a lot because a suit which doesn’t fits you well in the sleeves can make you look funny.

Pants hem: Always go in for pants that are unhemmed, ensure that the pants reach your shoes with as light break. Cuff less pants make you look taller. However pants with cuff signify a more matured look.

Jacket waist: The jacket needs to fit you well across your stomach to give you a professional look.

These are some of the things which you need to consider while you are purchasing a suit, above all the points what you need to consider in purchasing your suit is the fitting of your suit.

Marketing, sales and service silos — why?

By: Sue Barrett | 27/11/2009
For people in the communications industry it is appalling that there is a lack of real communication occurring between their marketing and sales departments. All too often I see departments vying for budgets, leadership, ideas, etc. Some people believe marketing drives the engine and sales are irrelevant, or sales are king and what is marketing anyway?
