- Weather Channels: Many radios these days have weather channels that provide users the weather news and forecasts by the official meteorological department. This feature is ideal for people who have to travel a lot for work, both within the country and abroad.
- VOX: This feature makes the push button in two way radios redundant. Earlier, in order to speak, users had to push a button. But the voice activated system, or the VOX starts broadcasting the moment the user speaks in the direction of the radio. This feature is extremely useful when the user is engaged in some other task like driving, as it provides a hands free facility.
