The SNR or Signal to Noise Ratio gives a contrast of the signal amount w/ the background noise amount in a specific signal; such that a high Signal to Noise Ratio specifies the noise is less obvious. Describe Signal to Noise Ration mathematically. The Signal to Noise Ratio is described as “SNR=Ps/Pn”, where “Ps” is the standard power of the preferred signal, and “Pn” is the standard power of the unwanted noise. These levels of power must be measured at the same points and w/in the same bandwidth of the arrangement.

Read the RMS or Root Mean Square. Root Mean Square is a means of calculating an unstable quantity. It is helpful for calculating waveforms, like sound or electromagnetism where the quantity alters in a statistically unsurprising manner.
