Is there water on the moon? According to NASA there is a 'significant amount' located in a crater discovered just last month. So does this possibly mean a manned moon base in humanity's near future? Possibly within the next few decades? What excites me about it, is the possibility that my grandchildren will have an opportunity to perhaps visit the Hilton Moon hotel! Will the free market provide a chance for everyone to visit the moon? Can you imagine schools holding fundraising events to allow a class of twenty students to visit the moon for a week!? I'm 31 years old now, and wonder if by the time I am in my fifties, there may indeed be space travel for everyone?
Quick Poll; Do You Think Man Will Have A Permanent Settlement On The Moon Before The End Of The 21st Century? YES OR NO Answer To Win A Gift Card
Back in the 1950s there was an air travel revolution. Will finding water on the moon, mean that we are destined for a space travel revolution? Let's hope it does! In these days of economic distress, it is nice to hear of positive news such as this. Everyone hears constantly about all the poor souls losing their jobs, their homes, and their very identities.
What americans, and in fact the world should do, is to engage in their imaginations and creative abilities to develop, and move beyond a mere global economy. Which is a bad idea itself, and instead focus on creating an inter-galactic economy. There would be plenty of real estate available! With the discovery of water on the moon, we could cheaply launch missions to other points in our solar system such as Mars. In a time span of say 100 years, the red planet could be terra-formed and be made livable for humans and other mammals. Does this then lead us to the question of "is there water on Mars?" Let's say in 200 years, we actually have two sister bodies in space. Inhabited. Talking on the telephone to a loved one on the moon would be a challenge due to the time delay of the signal. But how much more challenging would it be to do so with someone on Mars? There is an approximate 11 minute delay. With NASA finding water on the moon, our great, great, great, grand-children will probably look back and think that we were living in a stone age.
Using vision, I have no doubt that we can look past ourselves and up towards an immense universe, made by God for us to enjoy. Just remember how miniscule you are.
