One of the expanded dogmas of mankind is that the Quran is quoted or borrowed from the Bible. This creed is established upon studies of many prejudiced intellectual scholars
In this series of articles (1-14), it is obvious that the Quran is quite different from the Bible. It is also very clear that the Noble Quran preceded the sciences in many aspects.
In the present topic of the Colors, the smart reader will answer easily the fake dogmatic question: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?
Before dealing with the topic of the Different Colors in Quran versus Bible versus sciences, it is essential to remember that the total words of the Bible are 788,280 while total words of the Quran are 77,473. It follows that, the Bible has the potential of more than 10 times the Quran to talk about the Different Colors word-wise.
The colors are mentioned eight times in the Bible and six times in the Quran.
The Colors in the Bible:
The first four verses talk about "Dark-colored lambs or animals"
Genesis 30:32
Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb and every spotted or speckled goat. They will be my wages.
Genesis 30:33
And my honesty will testify for me in the future, whenever you check on the wages you have paid me. Any goat in my possession that is not speckled or spotted, or any lamb that is not dark-colored, will be considered stolen."
Genesis 30:35
That same day he removed all the male goats that were streaked or spotted, and all the speckled or spotted female goats (all that had white on them) and all the dark-colored lambs, and he placed them in the care of his sons.
Genesis 30:40
Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban's animals.
The fifth verses talks about colorful garments.
Judges 5:30
'Are they not finding and dividing the spoils: a girl or two for each man, colorful garments as plunder for Sisera, colorful garments embroidered, highly embroidered garments for my neck— all this as plunder?'
The sixth verse talks about stones of various colors
1 Chronicles 29:2
With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God—gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise, stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble—all of these in large quantities.
The seventh verse talks about Egyptian colored linens
Proverbs 7:16
I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt.
The eighth verse talks about an Eagle's plumage of varied colors.
Ezekiel 17:3
Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: A great eagle with powerful wings, long feathers and full plumage of varied colors came to Lebanon. Taking hold of the top of a cedar,
That is all about the colors in the Bible.
The Colors in the Quran:
Surah 16:13
And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colors (and qualities): verily in this a Sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude).
This verse talks about everything on the Earth and their different colors and considers that these different colors are signs made by Allah the Almighty Creator for people who celebrate the praises of The Almighty Creator.
This deep meaning about the significance of the different colors is not found in the Bible.
Surah 16:69
Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colors, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.
In this verse, Allah commanded the Bees to eat from the earth products, and then they manufacture for us a liquid of different colors that has healing effects.
Again, this sense is not present in the Bible.
In addition, the verse preceded the sciences in respect to the medical values of Bees' products. See my articles: "Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences Array (2) the Bees" and "Bible Versus Quran Versus Sciences, Array (3) the Honey"
Surah 30:22
And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colors; verily in that are Signs for those who know.
This verse talks about the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in man's languages and colors. The verse considers these variations in man's languages and colors as signs made by Allah the Almighty Creator for people who know.
Unfortunately, some intellectual people did not praise Allah for such signs but categorized human according to their colors and put down the black colored man.
How many crimes committed because of color discrimination!
Here again, this connotation is not found in the Bible.
Surah 35:27and 28
27] Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky? With it We then bring out produce of various colors. And in the mountains are tracts white and red, of various shades of color, and black intense in hue.
28] And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colors. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.
These two verse talk about the importance of the rain as regards to the earth products (the Plant kingdom) that have different colors. Also, the verses talk about the different colors of the mountains and the different colors of the animal kingdom. The verses say that these different colors are signs made by Allah the Almighty Creator for people who have knowledge.
The top of the knowledge is to know that Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.
This global view and very deep meaning about the value variations of colors of all the creatures on the earth is not found in the Bible.
Surah 39:21
Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and leads it through springs in the earth? Then He causes to grow, therewith, produce of various colors: then it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then He makes it dry up and crumble away. Truly, in this, is a Message of remembrance to men of understanding.
This verse describes our life in a real parable that we see it everyday. Our life is like the earth products, starts beautifully with different colors then withers gradually then dries up and crumbles away. This is our "limited" life on earth which is the preparatory stage to our "unlimited" afterlife.
It is really and truly "a Message of remembrance to men of understanding."
Again, this very deep implication is not found in the Bible.
Now, I think it is easy to answer this forged doctrinaire question: Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?
