What can I do to protect myself after my wallet has been stolen?
By: Dawn Sharp | 30-09-2008
I was a victim of a house burglery last week.  The thief stole my wallet, which contained my credit cards, a bank debit card, bank checks, drivers license, social security card and a wallet size copy of my birth record.  I cancelled all my credit cards, the debit card and bank checks, but I am concerned about my other forms of personal ID and information.  Can the thief use these?  He was apprehended 4 hours after the theft and the police recovered some of my credit cards, but nothing else.  *They were able to find him in the act of using my credit cards with the info I supplied them about recent activity on my cards.  The credit card companies were very helpful!
