The Dangers of Winxsecuritycenter

Do not be fooled by the name, winxsecuritycenter is anything but a security center. It will end up controlling your computer and use the data it captures to make your life miserable.

Uninstall WinXSecurityCenter Program
Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel
 Double-click on Add/Remove Programs
Find and uninstall WinXSecurityCenter

Stop WinXSecurityCenter processes
Go to Start --> Run --> type taskmgr
 Select the Processes tab and look for the following process under Image Name:
WinX Security Center.exe
Select the name and click on “End Process”

Unregister WinXSecurityCenter DLLs
Go to Start --> Run
Type “cmd” and then click OK
Type “regsvr32 /u filename.dll” *filename.dll would be replaced with the file beow:
redir.dll

Unregister WinXSecurityCenter registry keys
Go to Start -->Run
Type “regedit” and then press OK
Right click on the files below and select “Delete”

Remove WinXSecurityCenter Directories
Go to Start --> My Computer --> Local Disk (C:) --> Program Files --> Show the contents of this folder.
Right-click on the WinXSecurityCenter folder and select Delete

If your homepage has been changed
Type in the address of your desired homepage in your browser
Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Internet Options --> click on the General --> click Use Current under Home Page

The best recommendation to not only remove winxsecuritycenter and prevent similar programs like this in the future is to install an antispyware with a good reputation. The dangers in attempting to remove programs like these yourself is that there’s a potential to accidentally delete the wrong files or not delete all of the necessary files. In addition, even if you do successfully remove these programs yourself, you have no protection from future corruption.
