The Irony of Antivirusplasma

If you have recently purchased, been asked to purchase, or had your computer scanned with Antivirusplasma, the best advice is to remove it by any means necessary.  This is a dangerous and clever rogue anti-spyware program that originated in the Russian Federation.  You will be inundated with warnings directing you to Antivirusplasma.com that are actually downloads that slow your computer down until you purchase the actual product.  Upon purchase, they will remove the virus that they so  nicely installed without your permission.  After reading this article, you will know if have fallen victim to this clever little parasite and destroy it immediately.

The trial version pops up in your window looking just like the Windows Security Update. Many people will just automatically click on it, thinking that it is a part of their computer system.  The scan looks very real, and the results send many people into panic mode.  This trial version will tell you that you are infected.  You are, but by the virus they just installed on your program.  The main purpose is to dupe you into purchasing the program and fattening their pocketbook.  This would not be so bad if they were actually installing a product.  If you are lucky, they will just remove the virus they installed.  However, the real version is not totally harmless, because it may still redirect you to other websites that will force new software installs.

The infection creeps through your computer system through unknown trojans or pop-up ads.  Most of the time, the trialware doesn't even ask permission to perform the scan, which is actually a download of this malicious spyware.  At first you will have very few signs of life, giving it time to make itself comfortable in your computer.  Expect to have your system hijacked and to be redirected to sites that are not the one you are looking for.

If you are lucky enough to detect early signs of infection, you are way ahead of the game.  The first symptoms will be just slight freezes and reboots of the computer.  This is easy to overlook because most computers will do this from time to time anyway.  Every time that you start up Windows, the software will be running in the background, purposely slowing down everything.  You may have noticed that you are blocked or redirected to certain network connections.  One of the biggest signs is new add-ons, tool bars, or search bars that you never downloaded.  Another free “service” this program will give you is the physical injure of disk clusters.

Some people decide to go the route of manually removing these programs.  It's not impossible, but expect to spend at least 30 minutes deleting files.  The instructions you have may not be current since the files are updated and hidden in your computer.  If you do happen to get everything off, you have no guarantee that it won't come back.  For this reason, you might make a decision to purchase a reliable and trustworthy anti-spyware program.  You will be protected from future infection of Antivirusplasma or any other harmful programs.  Your peace-of-mind and time are worth the expense of a good program.
