It's true, stress is unavoidable. It doesn't matter who you are, where you live, or what you do for a living you are going to encounter stress. Stress can be both good and bad for you. It can be good because small amounts of stress will ensure that you get out of bed in the morning and tend to your responsibilities.

When you are dealing with too much stress you may become depressed, feel fatigued all the time, develop irritable bowel syndrome, headaches, and even suffer from hives! Dealing with stress is important and when you combine affirmations for stress with other stress busting techniques you can lower your stress levels so that you can live a happy, healthy life.

Methods to Beat Stress

Stress affirmations alone help a lot of people beat the stress. These simple statements are compromised of the way you would like to think or feel in a given situation and are simple reminders that stress happens for a reason and it can't tear you down if you don't let it.

Stress affirmations can become your personal sanity statements. For instance you may say when you come stressed, "I am breathing-in peace, and breathing-out stress and negativity." When you do this you take the power back from the stressful situation and you are able to function on a much more efficient level.

Combining stress affirmations with other methods of relaxation is a good idea. For instance, strive to find just 10 or 15 minutes when you are stressed to lie down and allow the stress to leave your body. In this situation your affirmations may be something like, "I can feel the stress leaving my body. Stress has no control over me." This is a great way to become grounded and it truly doesn't take much time. In just ten or fifteen minutes you can return to reality and you'll be able to approach all of your stressors from a new prospective.

Another stress buster that you can pair with stress affirmations is exercise. A lot of people find that exercise two or three times a week helps to melt away all of their stresses. Though exercise cannot solve all of your problems, it can help you slow down your thought process and gain a new perspective. Sometimes this is all you need to be able to better deal with the stresses that you experience in your life.

Many people find that 30 minutes each week to do something that they love to do is another great way to beat their stress. You may have to use positive affirmations to make sure this happens, but it is a good idea. For instance, if you like to go on nature walks but you don't make time for it, you could use an affirmation such as, "Doing what I love to do replenishes my passion to keep me moving forward," and when you are about to schedule work instead of "fun time", you can repeat this affirmation to yourself. Positive affirmations help to remind you that you need to take care of yourself at every turn.

Book/Writing Advice
By: cjdaves157 | 24-07-2008
I am writing a book.  Below is an excerpt, looking for opinions and advice.         Given A Choice   I have often tried to imagine what my life would have been like if I could have picked my parents and circumstances in advance.  If given a choice before birth I am sure I would have chosen a wealthy, high profile, investment banker father with a mother who spent her entire days planning fundraising soirées for the benefit of underprivileged kids. My childhood would have been filled with lavish vacations, shopping sprees and summers studying abroad. All of my friends would line up for the chance to stay over at my five story one hundred and fifty room mansion located somewhere off the west coast where the sun was always shining and the olympic size pool was always inviting. My nanny, obviously from some foreign country, would take care of all the daily chores that would have helped me to grow into a responsible adult.  My teenage bedroom would have been the size of a normal ranch style house with a closet the size of a three car garage.  I would have been the envy of every teenage girl and the crush of every teenage and preteen boy.  I imagine I would have sailed through adolescence and breezed through young adulthood without any obstacles to help shape my moral values. I envision me selecting Civil Law as my profession and the standard successful husband and two and a half kids.  My children would grow to become successful adults with professions in the medical, legal and political fields.   After spoiling tons of grandchildren and leaving my mark on the world, I would have died somewhere around the age of ninety-five, quietly in my home under the care of a most wonderful and loving Hospice worker. My life?s achievements and my husband?s pension would ensure that my children and their children would be set financially for life.  I am sure that I am not alone in my thoughts of what would have made the perfect atmosphere for the perfect childhood.  Some may have chosen more exotic locations, more wealth or maybe more high profile, celebutant parents.  I envision that just enough for whatever I wanted would have been perfect enough.  Similar to how infertile couples pick out sperm at a sperm bank I use to think it would have been nice to review the details of what I was being born into.  Looking back now I know that choice is not always a good thing.  Most children born into the scenario I described above end up killing thirty of their peers in a school yard shooting, after which suicide seems to become their only way out.  I believe that there is a higher power that does review the blueprints of families and has a keen sense for why you are placed where you are.  Still, when I think back to the sperm analogy used above, I see my parents picking ?purple sperm? and I came out ?green?.

Accepting an apology.
By: bj | 22-07-2008
My 60 year old sister in law told my 25 year old son that he was conceived before marriage.  She shared this with him during a social event, giggling and covering her mouth as if she just told a dirty secret. He was embarrassed and humiliated. He does not understand why she used that forum to share this with him.  Our relationship is solid and unaffected by her act. She has sent me a letter of apology and I am struggling with the acceptance.  I believe she is sorry.  I know I must forgive.  What is my next step as far as my response.  How do I do this?
