Bereavement-Pain And Loss

A state of loneliness or sadness is defined as bereavement. The cause for bereavement may be different for every person. A person is mostly in the state of bereavement when a person experiences loss of a person. The loss can be due to death, a person moving away forever, due to relation breakups, divorce for an example, loss of pets, loss of employment, etc. Bereavement grief means a bundle of feelings associated with a person's loss. Bereavement behaviours are numbness, loneliness, shock, guilt, anxiety, agitation, anger, etc. While a person is suffering from bereavement grief the person observes behaviours like restlessness, crying, insomnia and withdrawal. Researchers often refer to bereavement behaviour as grief cycle. After a research of over 40 years and still continuing, researchers have found some common behaviours observed in people with bereavement. The most frequently observed behaviour is shock and denial. Some people cannot realize the fact, and a feeling of unreality is common. People are not able to overcome the facts, which have occurred around them. They often suffer from depersonalization and anaesthetizing of affect.

Volatile reactions are even observed in people who feel that their identity or social image is being affected. A natural tendency of feeling angry is frequent with them; they even feel that they are helpless, and hurt a lot. Volatile reactions cause people to get frustrated, have hatred and jealousy with other people. Bereavement has a disorganization and despair behaviour, where a person is mourning and crying due to loss of a person or being away from a loved one. Reorganization is observed in bereavement behaviour when someone or something is lost without their fault or without the person being deceased. Bereavement behaviour not only affects a person mentally but is also causes hazardous effects on ones health and life. Heavy symptoms of abdominal pain, breathing problems are bordered even after six months of an event having occurred.

Bereavement grief has a wide range of effects, and the density to which a person can be affected differ from person to person. Bereavement grief is almost a part of every individual humans life. There are two types of bereavement grief, a normal and other is a complicated grief. Normal bereavement grief is to some extend accepted for an individual. When a person is affect by a complicated bereavement grief he often attempts to kill himself / her. People usually fall under the prey of complicated bereavement grief due to a sudden shock.
