Got a hairy business problem that you just can't figure out?
Has your life gone awry?
What if you could ask a question and sleep on it? What if it could be that easy?
There's a way you can Rumpelstiltskin your way to answers that, during the day, can't come to you due to interference from the ego and subconscious minds.
Ego says, "I've got to protect me and mine." Ego wants you to "stay safe". So, any answer that ego perceives as a threat, is going to get great opposition...if it allows you to see that answer at all. Just so you know, ego perceives a lot of things as a threat, especially opportunity, as most opportunity requires change which ego sees as threatening ego self.
Subconscious says, "...But we've always done it this way." This is also a means of protection. It provides discomfort in trying anything new because new can mean, "danger".
So, what does this have to do with sleep and dreams?
Frankly, dreaming is a kind of "work around" for the ego and subconscious minds. This isn't some airy fairy solution where you have to "om" and meditate your way to some "Zen" state - although that's not a bad idea.
This solution calls for making use of a faculty that is currently, probably, going unused...your sleep and dream time.
...and it's simple.
All you do is ask a question before you go to sleep.
As you lie down, relax and breathe, ask a question. For example, "What do I do about problem ‘x' at work? What's the answer to problem ‘y' at home?" You can even review the situation in your head.
Then ask to receive an answer while you sleep. Ask to be shown...and trust and believe that you will be shown. A question is a knock at the door of knowledge, and there can be no question without an answer.
People often quote the Bible on this one, saying, "Ask and it shall be given to you." What it says is, "Ask, believing you have received", and then it will be given to you. The belief, or faith, is key. So, ask and know that the answer is there...and that it can be as easy as "sleeping on it".
Do not be stressed about remembering your dreams. Whether you remember it or not, the answer will come.
(If you are one who says you don't dream or don't remember your dreams...stop telling yourself that. The only reason you persist in not remembering is because you insist in telling yourself you don't.)
The good news is...you don't have to remember your dreams in order to get answers with this method.
Here's how it works...
Truth be told, your answer may or may not come in a dream.
What you've done in posing the question and then letting it go is become open to the answer.
You've given your ego and subconscious permission to "let their guards down" so that answers can come. In asking and dreaming, what you are doing is getting out of the way.
You've allowed your mind and spirit to work it out in the dream time. By letting go, you've signaled to the ego and subconscious that it's okay.
The answer may come in a dream, but even if you don't remember the dream, the answer will show up. It may show up in your waking hours as a flash of insight, as a coincidence, or perhaps as a "still small voice". The problem may take care of itself or just dissolve. (The stress and worry over a problem can create problems that aren't really there. Remove the focus. Remove the problem.)
Give it a shot, be patient...and then be amazed at the results!
