Here you will find the tallest sand dune this side of the Atlantic at Jockey Ridge, the Outer Banks barrier islands that are known so well to the area, and the tallest brick lighthouse in the nation, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. And if that isn't enough summer fun in North Carolina you can always visit Wilmington, the state's major seaport, or take a walk down the path of history Kitty Hawk where the Wright Brothers flew the first aircraft in 1903.
