If you are reading this it’s probably because you are currently worrying about something, or you have worried about something in the past. If that’s the case, then you know how paralyzing worry can be. Sometimes you worry because you know you have done something you shouldn’t have done and are worried about the consequences. Other times, in your journey towards success, you may worry because you have taken a chance on something you believe in and again, are worried about the outcome or circumstances.
So what do you do to get over that worry feeling? Dale Carnegie once said, ‘If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there worrying. It's the worry that gets you, not the lack of sleep.’
Have you ever found yourself just sitting around and dwelling on whatever it is you are worried about? Well, just sitting around thinking about it will never change the situation. Instead, take Dale Carnegie’s advice and begin to do something about it. Get together with some of your friends, co-workers, or family and begin to create a plan to overcome your worry.
Sometimes you will find that, by just talking to someone, the situation isn’t really as worrisome as you thought it was. Then at other times, you will begin to formulate an action plan that will help you deal with whatever it is so that you can have better peace of mind. You will be amazed that, by simply taking action, fear and worry will disappear. After all, worry and fear can be made to seem like giants in our mind when, in reality, it may be nothing at all.
