Broaden you horizon
Every individual is endowed with some brilliant faculties of intellect that enable us to think progressively. People everywhere around the globe engage in various laborious activities but the hardest of them all is thinking. The greatest work that a human being can engage in is thinking. Most people flee the task of sustained thinking and decide to take refuge in various forms of entertainment.
Others succumb to the habit of thinking in retrospect and argue that they are always thinking when reality is, they are exercising that faculty of the mind called memory. You can spend a good chunk of time reminiscing, evoking thoughts of past experiences and disappointments. This kind of thinking is only capable of enervating the power of progressive thinking. It is tantamount to driving concentrating on the rear view mirror whose consequences we might not need to dwell on at this juncture.
Thinking in line with what can be seen is pretty easy, but thinking beyond what can be seen by the natural eye is the most difficult feat. To think about lack when faced by the prospect of lack is easy. To meditate on illness when seeing your body deteriorating is easy. It is habitual to think of things as they appear. A higher level of thinking then, is when you get the ability to see things as they should be and not as they are. This kind of seeing can only be implemented by the mind. The eyes of the mind can be opened by sustained thinking, which unfortunately a lot of people dread.
In life you can never receive more than your mind is capable of seeing. That is why you are encouraged to see with your mind what others fail to see with their eyes. The moment you train your mind to see bigger visions is when you begin to see bigger things gravitating towards you with unerring precision.
Those people whose achievements we cherish and ascribe to some peculiarity in the formation of their skulls or some fineness in the texture of their brains, became who they are as a result of thinking beyond their horizons.
At some point you should be tired of being the timid, uncertain slow worker classified as low skilled and always occupying the bottom of the positional totem pole. At some stage in life you should be tired of being tired of always living a small life, seeing small things and associating with small people. Aspire at some point to be sitting around a big table among great people discussing real issues like Dr Martin Luther King Jr said, “… I would see Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Euripides and Aristophanes assembled around the Parthenon. And I would watch them around the Parthenon as they discussed the great and eternal issues of reality.” Wouldn’t you want to be among such as opposed to the trivialities upon which we spend most of your time debating; running away from ourselves and or afraid of engaging in deep thought?
Ask yourself some questions and try to come up with genuine answers. Questions like, “where am I going with my life?” That question alone is capable of changing the course and direction of one’s life enabling them to develop a self-propelled upward spiral.

Bidding your excuses farewell
By: Ozias Mucheriwa | 06/09/2009 | MotivationalIf every individual were to write a book of excuses to clearly explicate why they cannot achieve success, most people would come up with voluminous books that could even compete with the bible in size. We all have obstacles that we have faced or are going to face which threaten our success in life. Reasons are there that can perfectly justify why we should not take action and be consigned into oblivion.
The importance of Self-Identification
By: Ozias Mucheriwa | 18/07/2009 | Self ImprovementMost people are awfully misinformed or completely uninformed about who they are.
