Why is this so? The reason for this is that individuals from different spheres of life actually are not happy, as they appear to be. Now, it is as if happiness is extremely difficult to get hold of. This is so shocking since these days we are in possession of several things that were not there earlier. This makes us ponder on what can actually get real happiness.

1. Be contented

A feeling of contentment can be derived from learning to be glad about what you possess. Being jealous of the fact that others are more greatly blessed than you is a regular blunder that you commit. There always exists a desire to get more than considered necessary.
Real happiness can be realized by understanding life, and the things it grants to you. In opposition to common perceptions, it is the simple, everyday things, which bring forth happiness. You should show your appreciation of these and be grateful that you possess them.

Think of those who own not as much as you do. You alone are not undergoing difficulties in life. In fact, there are many who are far less disadvantaged than you are. Just by remembering such thoughts, you can lead a contended life. In this time, you may discover the happiness you were seeking.

2. Happiness that is shared is happiness experienced
By sharing happiness with others, you will recognize that it will return to you twice-over. Have you ever experienced that shadowy and warm sensation within yourself after realizing you were successful in making somebody smile? You should attempt to experience many such beautiful moments.

Whenever you are sad and lonely, all that is required of you is just dream of happy moments and share them amongst those with you. You will become aware that the weighty feeling within you is lessened. With time, it may perhaps be gotten rid of.

Never ever, yield to the pressures of day-to-day predicaments. These tend to drag you down right to the depths. Associate with those people who you think will make you happy.

3. Focus more on accomplishments rather than errors
As a human being, you are liable to commit errors that you possibly cannot wield power over. If this occurs, disregard it as a lesson of life learned. These things are expected to take place. They enable you to turn into a stronger person.

Leave your mistakes behind and move ahead in life. Never get bogged down. Rather, dwell on your accomplishments. If you translate them into figures, you most likely will observe that the good things done by you outweigh the bad.

4. Be forgiving

Get the bitterness and rancor out of your life. Besides, it arrests your development towards real happiness. Forgive persons who offended you and stop thinking about earlier disagreements.

5. Treasure life

weight obsession: for as long as i can remember i have not gone through a day without thinking about my weight...i crave food and whenever i do the slightest thing i wonder if it means i can eat something, well fattening. whenever i do eat tho, and at the moment its even with healthy foods, i immediately wonder about the calories and how big its going to make me. The first diet i remember was when i was nine and i'm now almost 20 so its a long term thing that get worse depending on how active i am able to be. I've now just had surgery so have to take it easy and its just awful. I'm not what you'd call tiny,i'm a size 12 5ft8 10st 12. i wouldn't call that overweight either tho, there is a rational part of me that knows this. But when i was younger i was 11st7 by the time i was 12 so felt (and was) massive. also being tall and bigger boned than my friends did not help. my mum and my sister are both obsessed with dieting which i guess doesn't help. Sorry for the rant and have no idea if this is something you could help with but i need some ideas of how to get my thoughts away from this as it affects any relationships that i have, and how i am with people ie if i'm feeling like i've eaten alot then i'm moody. I am sick of feeling like this. there must be more to life than how much you weigh! -scalewatcher88

i was told my daughter at a young age had night terrors. well, shes 4 now and from the min she wakes up shes zooming with energy, her mood swings are horrible. shes mean and nasty when shes not hypers and cries off and on through the night. its making it very hard to handle her. we have a hard time sleeping and no ones every happy anymore. i dont know what is wrong, and i dont know what to do. she cried tonight when i asked her why she got so mean and she cried and said i dont know. i need advice. i'm pretty sure this is it, but i might think its a medication issues. she starts preschool next month and i dont want this happeneing there. any input?
