Physical health is so much more important than monetary benefits in life. Have you ever thought of the fact that you would not be able to use your money on anything satisfactory even if you had all the money in the world, but not the physical health? Never underestimate he who chooses to remain calorie conscious and exercise oriented. You too could get a grip on your health simply by planning the right eating and exercise habits. It may well be the elusive form of happiness that you knew you wanted but could never achieve. Here are a few ideas on healthy living:
A. Exercise: exercise has been the key factor in improving health, since times immemorial. Health is wealth remember! The right kind of exercise will tone your muscles and improve metabolism. Take care however, not to do too much when you begin.
Increase your workout a little by little, day by day. If you have medical problems, do take the advice of a physiotherapist as to which exercises are the best for you, and in what capacity or intensity. Remember, exercise is never going to give you overnight results. Stick to your schedule and you will see a gradual improvement over time, and this is what you must aim for.
B. Be good to yourself. Studies have shown that a low self esteem does result in poor health, directly or indirectly as it may be. When you think poorly of something you do not treat it very well do you? And that goes for your own self as well. Do not hate yourself for past mistakes. Do not dislike yourself because you aren't the best looking person. Nobody is perfect, and we all need to make the best that we can of ourselves. A positive mindset will go a long way in making you a healthier person.
C. Diet: diet does not always mean starving yourself half to death, and that is a common misconception. Dieting could be as simple as staying away from oily food or fast food. Junk food is good for no one. Try and replace the junk food in your life with fresh juices and fruits. If you are overweight or underweight by a good degree, you could consider getting a diet plan from a nutritionist.
D. Choose health over money: it must be evident to you by now that health is more important in life than money. There are times when people turn into workaholics to make that extra money. Don't do that to yourself. Remember, we make money to live a happy life; we do not live simply to make money. Balance is the key to all forms of happiness, and a balanced work schedule will help you leave enough time for your own self. Spend some quality time taking care of your health and it will definitely reflect on ever area of your life.
