How to Quadruple Your Productivity to Increase Your Wealth and Success

“I’m already doing the best I can on the job.”

“I can’t do more unless I work even longer hours!”

“There’s so much to do at work that I feel stressed because I feel like I just can’t get caught up.”

“The idea of doing more in less time is ridiculous.”

Ever feel this way?  I sure do sometimes!

How do some people excel while most of us are just trying to keep up?  What’s the secret?

The answer is surprisingly simple.  Successful people focus on the activities that directly relate to making money for their company.  And sometimes they don’t even try to “get everything done”.

For example, when most people first arrive at work, they immediately deal with their inbox and their voicemail.  But usually, email and voicemail are people asking you to do things FOR THEM.  But what are your daily activities that are most important FOR YOU?  Chances are, your inbox and voicemail can wait.  The key is to get started on the activities that directly make money for you and for your company.  The primary goal of your company is to profit.  Being productive means to help the company make more profit.

The only way to stay focused on what’s most important is to make daily task lists.  Your primary daily tasks should be prioritized according to your weekly goals.  Your weekly goals should be prioritized according to your primary monthly goals.  And your monthly goals should be prioritized according to your primary annual goals.  As you practice this concept, you’ll develop a new perspective when looking over your daily activities.  You’ll develop crystal clarity on what’s most important, what’s moderately important and what is actually a waste of your time.

By focusing on the most important daily tasks, you will find yourself answering emails and voicemails faster – with fewer words.  And sometimes, you’ll delete a few emails or voicemails because they are not worth your time.  You will begin to see that some of your tasks are actually quite unnecessary when you look at the big picture.

And sometimes it’s better to say “no” when colleagues are asking for your time on tasks that take away from your productivity.  You might tell them “My schedule is pretty intense today and I’m not sure I can fit this in.  Would it be possible to find someone else to do this for you?”

By going through this process, you will also find yourself spending extra time on the key activities that make more money.  You can use this concept to possibly quadruple your productivity.

Could you apply this same technique to your personal life?  Or to your finances?
