Is Your Life Created By Chance or Choice?

Have you heard of Yellow Fever? People who suffer from this condition see everything yellow. Isn't it amazing how a sickness can make everything look different?

Well, in life many of us tend to be like this. One bad situation or experience can make us view everything else critically. We wish we could just wave a magic wand and do away with all the bad stuff in our life.

But life is what it is. A mixture of good days and bad ones; pleasures and pains; laughter and tears.  One without the other has no real value. So, does that mean we accept things as they are?  Well yes, but not with resignation.

Choose Your Response

We cannot change situations but we can choose our response. Tell me, when the sky is too bright outside do you just sigh and say, "Oh well it's my bad luck", or do you reach for your sunglasses and deal with the situation? The sun will shine brightly whether we like it or not.

We cannot change situations but we can decide not to let it get the best of us. Fuming and fretting about what we cannot control will just make things worse. It will not only interfere with our ability to think logically but also make us see everything else critically.

Now it's simple logic; why do something that will make things worse? Why not be 'cool' and do the best you can in the situation!

The coolest thing to do in a difficult situation is:

1. Know that nothing is permanent. It's just a passing phase.

2. You are not alone! Everyone has one problem or another.

Look For the Silver Lining

I know someone who has suffered from spastic lower limbs for the past 15 years. Some days the pain is bad and then there are days when they go to bed not having thought of pain at all. The secret is in their mind. They decide how they choose to spend the day.  They choose conscientiously to be thankful and glad for the things they can do instead of complaining about the things they cannot.

Gratitude is the Right Attitude

Therefore the most important thing to do first and foremost that makes all the difference is:

Show GRATITUDE to the Universe! Because what we give FOCUS to will be MAGNIFIED.

Remember, there are people who have actually changed impossible situations with their positive attitude and faith! You can too!

Choice is a Great Tool

We are not helpless creatures. As human beings we have the privilege of CHOICE. It can be a great weapon of destruction and also a great tool!  Make it a positive TOOL and decide today that you will choose to:

1. Not let circumstances get you down.

2. LOOK for something good in every situation.

3. FOCUS and magnify only what is important. You become what you meditate on. So concentrate and dream of ANSWERS not PROBLEMS.

4. Treat every hurdle as an opportunity to rise a little higher in your inner strength.

Next time you find yourself in a tough situation, remember the CHOICES you have and respond with the right option. Remember the choice you make right or wrong, good or bad will ultimately decide the outcome.

Your life is in your hands. Choose wisely!
