Many self-improvement articles are available today, and you may have read several of them. You may wonder if you should spend time reading another one. Consider this; will you lose anything if you decide to read one more self-improvement article?
From about the age of 40, one will suddenly realize many things. You may think about your life and the way it will be when you reach the end of it. You may try to discover your true feelings about the life you lived. Then someone offers you some self- improvement articles while telling you that you are not over the hill yet. When you hear this, you start to feel anxious.
This feeling of anxiety is normal. Next is a feeling of confusion because life had felt so good. You were happy, had a successful marriage, wonderful kids, and a satisfactory job, and then you wonder what kind of problem you have. This was your glass ceiling, which had instilled fear and had convinced you that your passions and dreams were dead.
This article provides some shifts in perspective that can help you move your life to the next level. It will assist you in breaking through your glass ceiling to create the life you really desire.
Embrace your past and move on. You have to move from why it happened to what you want to do about it now. Asking yourself why is not a very empowering question. It is more powerful to ask what or how you should proceed to move forward from this moment.
Allow yourself to dream. When you were a child, you probably had no problem dreaming. Search yourself and find your ability to imagine. Dream about what you want and who you want to be. Appreciate your dreams and desires. Let no one discourage you from getting your dreams fulfilled.
Incite your passion. Regardless of the way you feel, deep within, you still have your passions. It may have been a while since you felt your passions flow, but they are there. Think about the times that you were most alive and joyful in your life. Consider the people around you who you most admire and the things that they inspire in you.
Look within yourself for happiness. Increase your self-awareness. Get curious about who you are at the very core of your being. Develop and nurture a relationship with yourself. You are the only one who can make you happy.
Show gratitude. Appreciate the things that you presently have in your life. Count your many blessings. Be grateful for the things that are working right in your life. Make a list of all the things and people that make you grateful. Set aside some time everyday to acknowledge them. The more you practice gratitude, the more things you attract into your life.
Attend to the basics. Spend some time to address your personal needs. You must give up the mode of enduring and concentrate on thriving in your life. Make an appointment to see a financial advisor, get your space organized, and clean the clutter from your closets and other things that are wasting your energy.
Breathe. You may have forgotten to take deep full breaths. It is normal for many of us to constrict our breathing when wee are under a lot of stress. We need to breathe to stay alive. The oxygen that we breathe in also gives us energy and keeps us healthy. This is a good time to take some deep, full breaths in and breathe out slowly. Do about five to six of these and enjoy the feeling of relaxation.
Seek support if necessary. Remember that you are not alone. Sometimes, it is easy to feel overwhelmed with life. Read more self-improvement articles. They may help you find the answers to some things that may be puzzling you.
Get excited and have fun. Communicate with friends, take a bubble bath, go to an art museum, take a walk through a garden full of nature, or take a stroll on the beach. Play your favorite music and dance until you absolutely cannot take another step.
Take action and a risk. Without action, not amount of inspiration is enough to make you move your life to the next level. Take it today.
Are you still thinking that this was just another one of those self-improvement articles?

By: Mik | 01-09-2008
okay, i've been feeling really weird, but i dont think i'm sick. and i've no idea what to do. i have this strange twitching thing where its like uncontrolable twitching only it is really beginning to bug me. it is happening a lot more since my wonderful girlfriend told me out of the blue she is bisexual. i wouldnt call myself homophobic or anyhting but its the last thing i expected and really blew me back. i've been feeling really crappy last few months but its suddenly intensified and i find myself completely unmotivated to do anything. more now than usual. i'm quite amazed that i bought myself to write this letter. i cant think of anything else to say but sometimes, when i am completely alone, not not alone, i infrequently hear someone call out my name really loudly. scares the hell out of me when i'm on my own and i know noones there. it might only happen once a month or so but its been happening for a few months now. i'm done. thanks.
