The 7 Simple Steps to Productive Dreams

When people talk about the things they want in life they will often refer to their "Dream Home", "Dream Car", "Dream Partner", and even "Dream Life". Sometimes, too, on a more negative note, they will refer to the things they will never achieve even in their "wildest dreams!"

So why all this talk of dreams?

Well, quite simply, throughout history and in all sorts of civilizations - ancient and modern - it is through the understanding of what happens in your dreams, those that occur every night whilst you sleep, that the clues to actually reaching those aspirations will be revealed. By tapping into the contents of your subconscious mind through the medium of dreams you can discover many pointers to the actions you need to take.

Therefore taking a little time to ensure that what you dream about can be truly productive is surely time well spent and there are some simple steps that you can take that will do just that.

#1 Be Comfortable

You will dream the most productive and meaningful dreams when you get a good night's sleep, and one of the requirements for doing so is to be comfortable. You need to ensure that you are neither too hot nor too cold, and that you don't go to sleep feeling hungry or thirsty.

#2 Clear Your Mind

Take a little time to remove the cares and concerns of the day from your mind by focusing on simple little things that make you happy.

#3 Be Grateful

A good way to get positive thoughts into your mind is to show gratitude for all the good things you have or that have happened during the day. Just lie still and say thank you for all of them. You can just say it silently to yourself if you wish, but speaking it out loud will work far better.

#4 Tell Yourself to Dream

Using positive affirmations to tell yourself that you will dream will help to reinforce that intention in your subconscious mind. Try repeating to yourself something like "tonight I will have meaningful dreams and I will clearly remember them in the morning".

#5 Questions

Use questions to focus on the key aspects of your life for which you have set goals and need pointers on how to achieve them. Ask the questions to yourself before you go to sleep.

#6 Visualization

Use positive visualization to see yourself going to sleep, having a restful night, and experiencing clear and meaningful dreams.

#7 Set Your Alarm

All of the previous steps deal with getting the most from your time asleep but just as important is what you do when you wake up. You must be able to remember the content of your dreams and the way to give yourself a good point from which to start is to ensure that you are woken up by the alarm rather than just gently waking. So set it to wake you nice and early!

Taking the right steps and applying them consistently will soon deliver all the clues you need to get the most from all the hours you spend asleep. Then you can truly start to make all those dreams come true.
