Rajni - a True Story

                                                                           RAJNI

There was a couple who were entirely different in their temperaments and thinking.but, adored each other to distraction. The husband was a wise,hard-working ,sensitive and ambititious disciplinarian.while his wife Rajni was just the opposite. She was jolly,fun-loving,easy going and to a certain extent indisciplined beauty ,with a golden heart and an art of making a stable place in the hearts of people by her beauty, voice and gregarious nature.perhaps, their opposite natures

Attracted them so much to each other that they got along fabulously. Their love was very prominent. They were deeply in love and complimented each other to the extent of envy by others.

Though their initial years of marriage were full of hardships and struggle. They had financial constraints, no support from anyone. The only solace was their undying love.but, due to his hardwork and dedication, he soon started earning good money. They started becoming wealthy day by day.the husband wanted to compensate for those earlier years of hardships.so, he started buying everything possible to keep his lady love happy. He took care of all her emotional and financial needs.she in return filled up his house and life with her love ,laughter, happiness and music.their life was a bliss and a romantic fairy tale.

After some years, they were blessed with a family of three sons and four daughters. It became difficult to manage such a big family. So, Rajni took help from her parents to bring up her children. She did not have in-laws.her parents did help  her physically. But, not without  having to pay heavily for it. On one hand she had to shell off a good amount of money to keep them happy.on the hand, theirpampering spoilt the eldest son.the man had wanted the son to be responsible ,hardworking and disciplined like him. But, on the contrary, he would do everything else but study. Though he was very intelligent. In the bargain, there was a difference of opinion and at times verbal conflict between the father and the son.Rajni tried hard to maintain harmony. On one side she had her husband’s principle and on theother hand her unconditional love for her son. It was difficult for her to maintain the equilibrium.

The eldest daughter was very beautiful, obeydient  and a complete support to the parents.she was married off at an early age.A stroke of bad luck came and she died in an accident. The couple could not come out of the shock and grief. Both started keeping poor health.the middle daughters were good. They got married off at a reasonable age after completing their education and went off to different cities with their respective in-laws.now, the couple was left with the younger son and the younger daughter., whom they loved very –very much. They felt that the youngest daughter was a re-birth of their eldest daughter who had died in the accident. They were similar in many respects. She was a doting daughter and did everything possible to keep her parents happy.the youngest son was indeed a blessing in disguise. He brought back all kinds of happiness in their life.Days passed into months , months into years. The elder sons moved out to different cities with their families.

Then suddenly, the man fell very sick and died unexpectedly. Rajni could not bear his loss , she could not survive alone for too long and she also died in an attack.the youger son and daughter who were unmarried, very close to each other were left dumb-struck ,shocked and shattered. They were left orphans in this wide world with waealth, success and comforts but no parents!.
