Article Marketing (SCBFG) is a great way to get your website more traffic

Article marketing is a great way to get your website more traffic.  Article marketing will provide your site traffic in multiple ways.  The 3 major ways article marketing will increase your web sites traffic are as follows.  1. The articles you write will appear in the search engines and if written correctly you will get traffic from the articles being in the search engines.   I have written articles that have appeared in the number 1 spot on page 1 of Google for a search term within 24 hours.  Of course this was for low competition search terms never the less it was still the first item listed on page 1 of Google.  My website was linked via the author’s bio so I was able to get additional traffic to my website because the article itself was listed on Google.   2.  Others will use your article and their users will find your site as they will find your author’s bio from your article.  3. Finally you will gain search ranking from all the backlinks to your site from your author’s bio and by getting listed higher in a search you will get more traffic. 

There are other benefits to doing article marketing, but the three listed above are what most people will typically be interested in.  Article marketing is not easy and it is not hard either.  I have a personal challenge that I want to learn exactly what it will take to get to the first page of Google.  I call it SCBFG (SEO Challenge Be First In Google).   The SCBFG is a test to see how many articles it will take to get listed on page one of Google for a keyword phrase.  I am starting out with a low competitive search term and working my way up.  It took less than 2 days to get one of my articles as the first listing on page 1 of Google.  I am working at getting the actual website itself and once there I will move on to a medium competitive search term and then a highly competitive search term.

It is not hard to sit down and create a 450+ word article, but it is hard to create 10 or more articles each day for each keyword and website you are promoting.  For example if you have a jewelry website and you want to promote your website so that it starts to show up for the term wedding rings.  Since this is a highly competitive search keyword phrase (It is highly competitive as there are over 37 million websites competing for this search term) you will most likely need to write 1000's of articles to even come close to page one. 

Let’s say you would need to write 5000 articles to get enough backlinks and traffic to your site to get your site to page one of Google for the search keyword phrase wedding rings.  I just pulled this number out of the air and have no proof that writing 5000 articles targeted on wedding rings with links to your site would get you to page 1 of Google.  There are too many factors that would go into this.  However, by writing articles that are targeted for wedding rings and linking them to your site it will definitely help you gain rank, as long as, your site is relevant to the keywords wedding rings and provides value to those searching for wedding rings.  Let’s say it will take the average person 2 hours to research and write a good quality article.   5000 articles will take you 10,000 hours.  If you work 40 hours a week with two weeks for time off.  This would take 5 years for a single writer to create that many articles.   This would leave no time for website development or really anything else.  I think you get the point though it will take a long time.  Remember this is just for the keyword phrase wedding rings.  What if you also wanted to rank for engagement rings, diamonds, or gold chain. 

You can easily see why this is not something you should be taking on alone. Outsourcing articles is a smart thing to do.  However, I would not recommend that you outsource anything until you have done it yourself and understand the process.  You can start simple and focus on a low competitive keyword and then move up form there like I am doing in SCBFG.  Once you are getting some of the medium competitive search terms to rank for your articles and website(s) you should start to make some money in which you can pay to have additional articles writing to help you move up faster. 

Of course 1 really exceptional article that gets noticed could get to the top of page one all by itself.  However, this would require it to be a very exceptional article.  It can be done and it should be our goal when writing an article.  Although, it is easier to provide a quality content rich article that your niche will enjoy and be happy to read to may never reach page one, but within your community it might be shared and linked too and others will promote your site as you are adding value to your niche.   That is the real key you need to provide something of value.  If you focus on providing your niche with quality content that they are seeking you will be rewarded with more traffic and hopefully expert status within your niche. 

By gaining expert status within your community or niche you will automatically get others linking to your site and checking out your site just to see what is going on in the industry.  This will automatically turn into more and more traffic for your site. You just need to start writing and publishing your articles. Over time you will be rewarded with more traffic.  You will also get better and better at writing your articles.  You will also learn more and more about your niche as you perform the research needed to write the articles.  So what are you waiting for get out there and write some articles.
