I was very excited today to receive an email from Edwin announcing the new Bookmarking Demon 5 release. I quickly downloaded BMD5 and after playing with it for a couple of hours this morning, I am quite impressed with the new features that were added. Although the look is still similar to BMD4, the layout has been completely revamped and is much better organized. Anyway, in the rest of this post, let me give you guys an overview of the new changes of Bookmarking Demon 5.~The first big change of BMD5 is the new project management interface. This gives you a way to create a project for your different bookmarking campaigns and organize them more effectively. For example, I can now have one project for my Affiliit Review blog and another one for my Affiliate Marketing tips site. If you don't want to create a project, you can always use the Default Project that comes with BMD5. Some people use Bookmarking Demon as part of their automated social bookmarking backlink services and this is a great way to organize and track your bookmarking submissions for each client.~Bookmarking Demon has always been really easy to create new social bookmarking accounts with, but BMD5 makes this even simpler with the new email verification function. As you know, when you create accounts on social bookmarking sites, many of them require you to login to your email and click on a link to verify your account. With BMD5, you don't have to do this anymore. Now you just add in your email accounts, and the software will perform the account verification for you with a click of the 'Process Emails' button. There is default support for the gmail account settings, although you do have to login to your gmail and manually enable POP access so BMD can properly retrieve your emails.~Of course any automated social bookmarking tool is nothing without social bookmarking sites to bookmark to. Bookmarking Demon 5 comes with support for 29 main bookmarking sites and 100 sites overall. This includes some big ones like Digg, Mixx, Delicious, Blinklist and Propeller. BMD has always included Scuttle, Scuttle Plus and Pligg sites, but BMD5 also adds support for PHPDug sites as well. ~The other noticeable feature you will see when creating accounts and bookmarking your sites is the new browser mode. Previously, Bookmarking Demon was sort of a black box and you couldn't really see what was going on while it was operating. The new Bookmarking Demon 5 browser mode interface basically opens up an internal browser window and you can see everything that BMD5 is doing, from logging in, to submitting your bookmarks. You will also be entering in any captchas if necessary through this browser. Also, everything is now multi-threaded which means that the software can submit to mutiple sites simultaneously. This significantly shortens the time it takes for BMD to complete all of its submissions.

The last cool feature I want to highlight is the new scheduling feature. I know from the comments on this blog, that many people have been looking for a way to space out their submissions instead of doing them all at once. Now with Bookmarking Demon 5, you can. The software includes its own scheduler interface where you can specify exactly what sites you want to bookmark and when. Once you set it all up, BMD5 will run in the background and submit your sites at the time and date you've specified. Of course, this only works with the bookmarking sites that don't require a captcha. ~I do have a couple of issues with BMD5 that I have encountered so far. For one, the list of social bookmarking accounts that say they require a captcha isn't very accurate. In my tests, I had to enter in several captchas even though I had selected only accounts that BMD said didn't require one. The other thing to note is that BMD5 still seems to have some stability issues, as the program did hang on me once. However, as a longtime BMD owner, I know that Edwin is really fast with the updates, so I am sure all these issues will be addressed in due time.~If you are an existing BMD owner, then Bookmarking Demon 5 is a free update, and you should have received an email from Edwin telling you where to download it. The amount of time you will save with Bookmarking Demon is amazing, and it really is a must have program if you have a ton of sites you need to bookmark. So when I first wrote about Bookmarking Demon First Impressions, I promised a one week and a one month review of BMD. You can also store your logins under each network and export them as a text file. This allows you to have as much as you want logins for 30 different networks and it will submit your sitest to all of them.~You can import the lists of URL's that you want to submit or you can automatically let the program crawl your site and create a huge list of URL's and anchor text automatically.~Finally the program will automatically download a list of proxies which are used to submit through so you don not reveal any information about you to any of the networks. The program has also helped my rankings for Affiliate Product Reviews which has increased my profits by around 300% in the past 3 months.~I am doing this Bookmarking Demon review now that I have had it for about 5 months and have a good feel for what to expect. I actually have my old laptop set up just to do Bookmarking Demon runs. I have had it going for days at a time and only turn it off when I want to give my laptop a breather. Not everyone can do that I know, but it works great for me to have that second computer that I can devote solely to bookmarking.~The main reason to use Bookmarking Demon is to get backlinks and NOT to get traffic from the social bookmarking sites. Yes, you will get some traffic from them but not enough to really make a difference. Anchored backlinks are what you want and that is what you will get. It is anchored backlinks for your keywords or keyword phrases that will slowly and steadily move you up in the Google rankings and eventually land you on the first page.~With BD there are two types of bookmarking sites that can be used: the big "legitimate" sites such as Mister Wong, Spurl, Simpy, Faves, etc as well as scuttle sites which are Open Source script bookmarking sites that anyone can build. (with the new version there are also ScuttlePlus sites and Pligg sites)~Bookmarking to the the normal sites takes longer and is more involved than the scuttle sites but the links are definitely worth more and worth the time. Bookmarking Demon will automatically sign you up as you input one name, login, and password that will be used for all the sites. With these mainstreem sites you will have to type in a captcha number for many of them as they individually pop up on the screen. After BD is finished signing you up, you will then have to go to the email you chose to click the links and activate the accounts.

Not all of the signups may be successful and that is one of this frustrating things about BD but it is understandable since these sites are continually trying to thwart people from using automation. You can then choose to go back and sign up for the failed ones manually or just go with the ones that were successful. In the end though, the main thing is that you will be getting these backlinks much faster than you could ever do manually and if you miss a few sites it really doesn't matter.~Next up would be to enter the url's of the pages you want to bookmark. The "title" is where you would put your desired anchor link or links. BD has a random feature which is very nice and allows you to put in as many anchor link titles as you want and it will randomly choose each time. You will want to enter as many keywords as you can think of because you will be getting an anchored link for each keyword. Note of caution: with all the "real" bookmarking sites you will want to include links from other web pages and not just the links to all your sites. This is because you want to disguise the fact that you are really only doing this to promote your own site(s) and they actually have people who check these things. You want to make it look like you are really bookmarking many different sites of interest and not only pages from your sites.~Luckily, bookmarking to the scuttle sites is 10 times easier. There is no captcha to fill out and you can make up any email address as there will be no account that needs to be verified. There is no need to "disguise" your links by adding others as no one will be checking or care. You can just bookmark all your links over and over (with different names) and no one will mind at all. It is these scuttle site runs that I sometimes do for days at a time.~When you buy the Bookmarking Demon software it will most likely take you an hour or two to understand all the features but it is not really very complicated and even a beginner should be able to understand it quickly. You will want to learn how to do a complete job of entering the data (different titles and keywords) for every page you want to bookmark as that is vital information and once you enter it you can save it and use it over and over.~Every time you do a new bookmarking run you will want to sign up to the sites with a different username and password as you don't want the same "person" bookmarking the same think over and over. You want the bookmarks to be coming from different users. Repeatedly having to sign up is more time consuming with the real bookmarking sites because of the hoops you have to jump through (screen captcha and verifying accounts), but it takes just a minute or two with the scuttle sites.~Now to the important things like: does it work and is it worth it? If you have a BANS site you know that it consists of many pages each with a different item. For instance, if your Build A Niche site is about kites then you will probably have a separate page for every brand of kite as well as a page for all the different kite accessories. When people search for each type of kite, you are hoping your BANS pages will come up near or at the top of the searches engines and that is how you will get your business. The same thing is true with a blog in that you hope each page will come up high in the search engines for each of your blog post topics.

Most people build backlinks to their main domain only and never to the internal pages. However, these internal pages need backlinks too in order for them to rise to the top of the search rankings. You want and need each of your BANS pages to have keyword authority for whatever item it is selling. Backlinks to each individual page is the best way to get that authority. Additionally, I have had my bookmarking links show up on the first page of Google when my actual site was no where to be found. I have gotten some traffic in those instances. When you see your links showing up on Google or Yahoo you at least know they are there and doing you some good.~When you start a new site and have no incoming links at all, it is especially nice to have Bookmarking Demon because you can at least get the ball rolling. By having some links coming to your new website from the major bookmaking sites, this will at least give Google and Yahoo something to follow and they might find your site that way. I have also been bookmarking all my Squidoo lens and every other type of Internet page I have. This is something that most people would never think about but there is no reason why you cannot start working on your keyword authority for your Squidoo pages and BD is perfect for this.~I hope this Bookmarking Demon review has been some help to you in understanding what the software is and does.
