How to get higher rankings on Google Yahoo or MSN, by doing your own Search Engine Optimisation - SEO in Kent
There is lots of advice we can offer you with SEO, but let's keep it very simple for your first experiment with SEO.
Assuming you have a website that you can edit yourself (we can provide you with a website that you can edit yourself with simple Word Processor skills, if you don't).
Try the following SEO steps below, it should only take you about 20 mins to implement
- Decide what your preferred key word or key phrase is that you want to be found on Google for, e.g. "SEO in Kent"
- Add a new webpage to your site with it's name; the same as the key phrase e.g. SEO-in-Kent.htm
- The Page Name needs to have the phrase at the beginning of the sentence, e.g. "SEO in Kent you can find to find out how, by ringing 01634 260700 Today"
- Make the first text for the Description as this key phrase as well e.g. "SEO in Kent you can find our how, by ringing 01634 260700 Today"
- In the keyword area, add this key phrase as the first one in the list e.g. seo kent,search engine optimisation kent, etc...
- Make the very first text on the page start with the Key Phrase e.g. "SEO in Kent you can find to find out how, by ringing 01634 260700 Today" ... but then select the text and use text formatting to make it the H1 (Heading 1)
- The first paragraph must also start with the key phrase e.g. "SEO in Kent you can find our how, by ringing 01634 260700 Today or read the article below for more information"
- Add lots of body text that includes the key phrase as often as makes logical sense e.g. "SEO in Kent is a subject that appears to be very technical and very difficult to achieve, however, many clients have found out how to do their own SEO in Kent and discovered that SEO basics are easier to implement than they first thought ..." Add related H2 & H3 headings with key phrase variations as appropriate e.g. "Search Engine Optimisation Tips".
- Now go to your home page and add a number of well placed text links to this new page e.g. "click here to find out how to do your own SEO in Kent"
- Add some images within the body text and name them with the key phrase e.g. seo-in-kent.jpg ; seo-kent.jpg ...
- You should be able to add some ALT text (Alternative Text) to the image, when you place the image on the page, also use the key phrase e.g. "SEO in Kent" or "click here to find out how to do your own SEO in Kent"
- Find a business associate with a website listed on Google and ask them to add a link on their website where the text is your key phrase e.g. "click here to find out how to do your own SEO in Kent"
If you haven't already listed your website with Google then use this link to 'Submit You Site' and use the whole path URL to the new page together with the key phrase as the description.
