Google is the most popular search engine around; there is obviously no debating that. Both searchers and website owners know how to use Google to their own advantage and for their various agenda. Simply put, Google is your one-stop, go-to guru when it comes to searching and being found. Owners who run businesses and websites vie for the most coveted top spot—the first page of Google’s Search Engine Result Page.
Every single keyword or set of keywords out there, once entered into Google’s search algorithm or search system, gives website hosts and business owners the chance to join the race to the Google pinnacle. All they have to do is drop a smattering of keywords across their websites and use SEO and other Internet marketing strategies while making sure that every page has these keywords so that the search engines’ spiders and bots will spot the keywords and index each site according to its area of expertise.
The BIG Question
How can you get your website to the first page of Google? The answer is simple, make sure you get things right—get your website indexed properly and make sure the search engines know what your website is about, where to find you, and eventually, point searchers in the right direction.
How do you get yourself indexed properly? First, you need to have certain knowledge of how search algorithms work, what people who use search engines usually look for, and how you can use that to your advantage. These factors change all the time so you need to be up to date with your data.
Second, you need to be creative when it comes to your website content—use flashy graphics, catchy slogans, entertaining and informative videos—knock yourselves out! Just be sure to update your website regularly. Your website’s coding, copywriting, content, and structure matter, and they need to be up-to-date in order to become effective. And of course, you need to make sure your website is properly indexed by search engines; otherwise, your efforts would be useless.
The 2 SEO Hats
There are currently two SEO practices that are being used when it comes to SEO—White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO.
Those who practice White Hat SEO tend to get long-term benefits from their methods. Plus, Google and the other search engines give White Hat SEO the thumbs up and acknowledge this practice as acceptable and legitimate.
Black Hat SEO tricks, on the other hand, are frowned upon and would generally lead to a ban from search engines such as Google. Search engines dislike being duped into thinking a site should be indexed under a certain area, even though it clearly does not belong there.
Get to the First Page of Google Using Keywords
In your quest to grace the front page of Google’s search engine results page, you need to rely on keywords. They provide access to the best the Internet has to offer. Consumers benefit by finding what they are looking for while business owners get the advantage of enticing buyers and potential clients into making use of their services or buying the products that they are selling.
Generally, if you know where to look, you can find some valuable data about your prospective customers and the keywords they are using. You need to find a way to lead these customers to your website portal, with the use of search engines, of course. Therefore, if you do your research well, you will know what keywords to scatter across your website. Then, if all goes well and you do the math, using Google algorithm, of course, you will find yourself inundated with lots of site visitors, which translates into more sales for you and your business.
In a nutshell, getting to the first page of Google isn’t easy. But once you learn the tricks of the trade, you will reap the rewards of your hard work. On the other hand, it will not hurt to outsource your SEO needs.
