SEO SITE ARCHITECTURE - II
Creating your website navigation scheme is an important part of search engine optimization. Search engine robots use your menu or navigation bar to index the internal pages of your site.
Here is what you need to keep in mind when you are organizing your website:
Search engine robots like:
1. web sites with a high volume of pages
2. each page must have unique title, description and keyword tags
3. each page must have at least 250 words of text
4. keywords should be used in the beginning, middle and last paragraphs of your text
5. page content should begin as close to the top of the page as possible
6. style and file instructions in external files
7. image and dynamic menus accompanied by a keyword text link menu
8. bottom of the page keyword text link menus
9. internal links from web page content to other pages
10. site maps
The first level of your site includes your home page and the main divisions of your web site. Each page on the first level should include links to the second level pages.
Every website needs these basic pages:
1. Homepage-Introduction
2. Contact page-Where you are
3. Privacy Policy page-How you handle visitor information
4. Products/Services page-What you are offering your visitors
5. About Us page-Company Information
The home, contact and privacy policy pages are stand alone pages, but should include links to all of your other pages as well.
If you want all of your website pages on level one, then instead of a "Products" or "Services" page, use a keyword for the link, i.e., "Software" or "Market Research".
