SEO Ranking Software: Why you should be using it

Everyone with a website and at least a basic understanding of where the online traffic comes from knows that high search engine rankings are crucial. There are different SEO strategies, tricks, methods and theories, but whichever one you use you still need to regularly monitor your rankings if you really want to improve them.

With hundreds or thousands of keywords to monitor running the checks by hand is simply impossible. And that's where SEO ranking software comes in handy. At that point you may ask: what hundreds of keywords are you tanking about? If that's what on your mind, then you probably fall into a group of SEOs who are obsessed with big keywords (if not skip the next passage).

Today a lot of website promoters seem to be focused just on a couple of their major keywords and don't care too much about the longtail. The reason for this is obvious mammoth traffic stats can really blow one's mind. This is one of the biggest SEO pitfalls you should avoid. Ranking high for broad terms can really bring you a hoard of traffic but that traffic will be extremely expensive. Right, natural rankings come for free but that only means you don't pay per click (as opposed to paid advertising) but getting natural rankings involves a lot of time, effort and money. The more popular the keyword the more of these precious resources you need to invest into SEO to reach a decent position in the SERPs. However if you target a larger number of more specific keywords you'll be able to get the same amount traffic but that traffic will be cheaper and laser targeted. The visitors you get from long-tail keywords are dying to get what you offer and the ROI you get can be unearthly. But let's get back to rank monitoring.

Once you stream your SEO the right way and target a wide array of keywords you end up a long list of keywords to monitor. Checking your positions for them is critical: if you don't know whether your rankings go up or down how can you tell whether you're doing things right? So keeping your finger on the ranking pulse is a SEOs top priority. And that's why you need to have SEO ranking software in your arsenal to be able to quickly detect the changes in your rankings and tweak your SEO efforts for maximum effect.
