To compete you have to be found
In today's world, it’s not enough to just have a website. Businesses worldwide are changing every day. Globalization has reached everywhere.
Brand name giants no longer enjoy sole control over the markets. Today, they have to compete on the playground of the Internet.
We can buy anything we want on the Internet - from ordering music to purchasing flowers. Not only saving time but exposing ourselves to a wider range of niche products. For every product available, there are thousands of online businesses competing against each other. Each site has its own strategy of how to get you to order through them, but one thing remains constant: "To survive, you need to be found".

Search Engines: the gods of knowledge
Search Engines like Google or MSN holds inside them the key to being found. Those search engines choose on a daily bases which sites gain rank, and which are gone. The tough reality of the online world created a new market: SEO (Search Engine Optimization). SEO professionals are experts in improving your business rank on search results. Before jumping in and hiring your own SEO crew, there’s one thing that you must remember: everybody wants to be found, and sometimes it’s not worth it to invest in a SEO Crew, especially when you’re on a tight budget.
In the next few weeks, we'll post more articles on the basics of creating your own SEO strategy and making it work! In this post I'll start with the first and most basic rule.
SEO 101
Each search engine, like Google, has its own algorithm for deciding which sites will be on the first page and which will never see the light of day. Those algorithms might be secret, but we can learn what affects them. Search engines index every word, picture or link in our web site - that's why the content is a key factor in improving our rank in the search engine result. Content is and always will be the most important part in having your site make the top list in the search engine result. Therefore, your first steps in creating your SEO strategy should be thinking about how to create new content to host on your site.
In my next article I'll talk about why SPAM ISN'T REAL CONTENT and that’s why avoiding it is only avoiding trouble.
Ailon.
