But who are new to the subject of SEO they must think what the term back links refers and what the importance of back links is. It is nothing but an important thing to build a good SEO. Actually back links are the links, which are called the inbound links (IBLs) or the inward links. The greater the number of back links is the greater the popularity of your website. It simply indicates the popularity and importance of your website. Back links are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality back links, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

When the search engines are calculating the importance and popularity of a specific website to a keyword then they consider the number of quality inbound links to that site. So you should not be happy that you have got some inbound links but you have to judge the quality of the links that you have got. So when it comes to exchange of links then always remember that exchange your link with some other quality links not with mass quantity of links and that can harm your purpose instead of do good for your websites high ranking. Now come to the topic that what are the parameters of judging the quality of a link. The answer is a search engine considers the content of the sites to determine the QUALITY of an inbound link. Again when inbound links to your site come from other sites and relevantly those sites have content that is related to your site then these inbound links are considered more useful and helpful to your site as they can do really good for the popularity of your website. And this is the parameter of judging the relevancy of the back links of your site designing. But on the contrary if you take unrelated and irrelevant back links, which have no connection with the content of your site then this, will be counted as the drawback of the relevancy of your site. So unrelated content is not desired. The higher the relevance of inbound links, the greater their quality.

As for example if you have a website about ornaments and then you receive another back link from a website containing wedding ring collection then it would be more preferable than getting a link from a site about drug test. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the back link.
