Sex Education for Adults
It's not just teenagers who need sex education - adults do, too. With the new fad and rise of the ‘Sexpert,’ and greater coverage of sex in mainstream magazines and newspapers, why are we turning to the professionals for help?
Although most columnists would tell you that women tend to worry about their body image and self-esteem; they focus on first meeting Mr Right and then keeping so called Mr Right; they agonise over whether they're sexual enough and whether this is reflected in their prowess in the bedroom, most women would not admit to this, we are after all supposed to be empowered and confident in our own skin. It seems to be about saving face with those who are close to us, so who do we turn to for advice when this option is absent? Enter the Sexpert. http://www.thetextperts.co.uk/sex_advice.html
A good sex expert can answer questions, give advice and hopefully help people feel more sexually confident. The pessimists among us would argue that they don’t, and instead, they debilitate women by reinforcing the idea that only good sex will help keep a partner interested, sidelining the deeper emotional understanding we should all strive for within our relationships.
Some reports have also implied that the Sex Advice columns appearing in magazines aimed at men as well as women, where women are revealing the most intimate details and fantasies about her sex life, are glorified porn and that it simply gives men a license to objectify women through a more acceptable medium than the top shelf magazines that are almost universally frowned upon by women.
But is this such a bad thing? Surely, women addressing men directly about their desires and experiences, in mainstream magazines is empowering for womankind. And if women and men decide that they can keep a partner interested and a relationship healthy by improving your sexual techniques rather than spending time over analysing the relationship, creating issues and dealing with problems through lengthy discussions, this indicates that sex is much more than just a physical pleasure in that relationship. Put basically if a good romp ends an argument and brings the warmth and love back in physical form, then that would indicate an understanding has been met, feelings of rejection and discontent subdued by the simple and yet connective act of love making, good love making.
