Who is Behind the Design of Adult Accessories in the UK

UK Adult Sex Designer:

The glamorous London UK resident designer model and adult toy shop owner Temara Savane won’t be available to oversee her new adult labels for the new state-of- the-art-plucky adult accessories and costumes at the Dillodong awards November 2008. She has instead been invited to the prestigious Lamington House for the coveted Vibro-Erotica World Adult awards; the Oscar-equivalent awards for adult sex toys and accessories.  Her speciality being the line of; sexy lingerie for the happy girl and boy, but she has also been involved in dildo and vibrator design collaboration.  I caught up with this strawberry blonde beauty a few weeks ago- a most pleasurable experience. Rrrr!

H:Hi Temara, could you tell me a little about yourself and how you got started in the toy industry?

T:Hi,  (laughs) I left school at 16 and joined a UK art college in view of clothes design, I was all into ladies fashion design really. I was dying for a chance to get into the industry. But it wasn’t until I left college two years later that I realized how tough the business was to get into. So one day after applying to a zillion jobs, I got this offer from a UK independent film maker to do art and fashion direction for his movies.

H: That was a lucky break wasn’t it?

T: Well, it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, you see, they were pornographic film makers and my job was to art the scenes up. Initially I said no way, but after a while I changed my mind, my boyfriend at the time said hey why not give it a try.  So I did.

H:What did you learn from the porn industry?

T: A helluvalot actually, I didn’t realize how strictly and professionally they made these movies, not that I’d seen any before (giggles). Like did you know that they film all the “money-shots” separately on one day? And that’s just a morning’s work. 

H: So how did you get into adult accessories and adult toys and when did your shop open?

T: Well as you could probably imagine, we used the toys and accessories all the time on set. I would sometimes customize them on site. Like add a few frills to the g-string and make alterations to the clothes, add pink ribbons to the dildos etc-you know to “girl” it up. And even give advice on the vibro use to some of those lame-ass men. (chuckles)  It was then that I realized I really could start designing these accessories myself and perhaps even open my own shop.

H: Did you try any out for yourself?

T: Yeah sure (giggles), as a designer of adult toys and accessories you‘d have to try them out, wouldn’t you?  If not how could you evaluate them.

H: So just how do you evaluate toys such as a dildo or a vibrator?

T: Well, without going into the mechanics, I’d score it on attractiveness, quietness, material, ease of use and orgasm rating, also on how fast it could make me climax.

H:How would you rate it compared with the real thing?

T: A good “real thing” is heaps better (laughs). But sometimes difficult to find.  (laughs)

H:So now you are designing toys and accessories full time?

T:Yeah, my main lines are suits now, body suits, body jewellery, plus vibrator and dildo design collaboration with some Eastern counter parts which is where most of them are manufactured.

H:Tried and tested?
