Wristbands are worn on the wrist made up of a variety of materials depending upon the purpose. Wristbands are made up of a variety of materials ranging from leather, paper and even silicone. Wristbands are also used to support a charitable cause. In these wristbands the name of the organization is printed on the wristband so that they can create awareness for the cause and raise funds. Nowadays color wristbands are also available which symbolize support for specific event. In 2004, Lance Armstrong started this movement to support cancer victims. He is a famous cyclist and survived cancer who won the most prestigious tournament in cycling. Tour De France is the most premium cycling event and he won it for a record 7 times. Another famous cause for which white wristband is recognized for is “make poverty history”. Many celebrities like Elton John and Bono supported this cause. Pink wristband is used to support breast cancer. Sale of Pink wristband has been increased ever since Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Leading football players like Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney wear black and white wristband to promote the cause of combating racism. The cause can be very effective if media and celebrities are involved. Funds that are collected by selling the bands are used for research works and charity purpose.

Wristbands are sold by churches and rehabilitation centers to raise funds for a good cause. Since silicone wristbands are cheap they can be purchased by anyone. Certain churches collect money for their members so that they can support their poor children. Silicone wristbands are purchased by various people because they are fashionable and cheap.

Wristbands are also used in Water Parks, Nightclubs, Concert promoters, Event planners, Dance clubs, Fairs, Day care centers, Special events, schools, Hospitals, Casinos, Festivals and Government municipalities. Wristbands are very important if you want an event to run successfully. Wristbands can be used in night clubs where in minors can be avoided from purchasing alcoholic beverages.
