Ah, the blessed hot days of July. While it may not be in the searing Saharan grade temperatures everywhere you go, it is most likely extremely hot wherever you are. While hunting may be the furthest thing from your mind (lemonade, Dr. Pepper, and cold ice tea dominate my thoughts at the moment) it won’t be long before hunting season is upon us. Pretty soon everyone will be pulling out their rifles, shotguns, knives, and other hunting gear bracing for another challenge in the wild. Many will be pulling out the whetstones and knife sharpeners and getting those knives honed to the perfect pitch. Some will even begin looking for new knives to replace those that have served their master well over the years. Even more will be shopping for that first knife for that son or daughter who has reached that age where they can’t comfortably sit and wait for Dad to come home. It’s time for them to go hunting.
While many people will wait until just before the season starts to go out and look for that new or extra hunting knife, many more are shopping already.
