How much should you spend on a Sat Nav system?

Sat Nav systems are constantly being update and improved with new features. In order to keep your maps completely up to date it is essential to subscribe to an automatic updater- many sat nav systems come pre loaded with one of these which may last several months before expiring.

When deciding on how much to spend on your new sat nav system the following features are worth looking out for:-

Touch Screen- this is important as it makes using the sat nav a lot easier whilst driving.

Mapping in both 2D and 3D form- this is an added bonus as it gives you varied views on where your going/ where you are.

Quick postcode search- this obviously comes in handy by allowing you to map out your exact location.

Text to speech options- these can give you advanced warning of traffic problems and speed cameras as well as reading out general instructions so you can concentrate on the road ahead.

Voice control- selected models of tomtom sat nav systems allow for voice control- making it less time consuming programming in the location of where you want to go.

Some of the basic sat nav systems on the market are inexpensive and start at around fifty pounds, it really depends on how much you plan to use your sat nav as to how much you should spend. For occasional leisure use it isn’t essential to spend large sums of money as the cheaper more basic models available should be adequate enough.

If you are going to be using your sat nav for business purposes where you need to get form A to B quickly then it may be worthwhile depending a little more money to get the most advanced technology available.
