Treating cellulite naturally through aromatherapy has been done for a few years. This method of cellulite removal coupled with exercise and massages is a nice alternative to the surgical treatments out there which are expensive, unreliable, and which can be a bit risky in some instances. Aromatherapy thus gives a refreshing and natural option to those who seek treatments for their cellulite woes.
Aromatherapy with a mix of massage can do wonders in promoting blood flow and releasing stress and toxins from the body, thus alleviating and lessening the cellulite problems that are apparent. These essential oils are absorbed through our sense of smell through the nose, and our sense of touch through the skin. When these oils are combined with a carrier oil, they can be massaged into the skin for a good and natural cellulite cure.
Enumerated below are some of the essential oils and carrier oils to try in order to achieve your goal of being cellulite free:
- Lavender is an oil that is relaxing and great for stress. It also has a toning, and revitalizing effect on the skin.
- Avocado is a deep penetrating oil and can carry the essential oils more deeply into the skin, increasing effectiveness. It also has a softening effect, and is usually mixed with other carrier oils
- Juniper is known to enhance blood circulation, melt fat under the skin to reduce cellulite and unclog pores. You can mix olive oil with a few drops of juniper to massage on to your problem areas.
- Grape seed oil has a mild astringent effect that is good for skin tone. It is also quite nourishing. Grape seed contains linoleic acid which are important for healthy cell membranes. Grape seed oil can be used in larger quantities, and is often used as a base with other carrier oils mixed in.
- Lemongrass is an essential oil that increases circulation and blood flow. It also has the ability to reduce the amount of fluid that has build up in our bodies.
- Rosehip contains essential fatty acids and is a good source of vitamin C which is important in skin health.
- Grapefruit is an oil that is known to assist muscle fatigue, making the skin firmer and reducing fluid build up in the body.
- Jojoba is similar in structure to the oils in our skin, and has antioxidant properties. It is a bit pricey and is absorbed quickly, making it best in mixture of carrier oils when used in an anti-cellulite massage.
- Rosemary has the effect of boosting the metabolism and enhancing the blood circulation through the skin and body. The improvement in circulation assists the body to remove toxins.
Essential oils and aromatherapy have been used in a different number of ways that now include cellulite reduction and removal. Finding and using a natural means to reduce cellulite is often safer, and is less risky than the traditional surgical methods of treatment. Surgical treatments which are more costly should be only entertained as a last resort. There are many other natural ways to reduce cellulite, and aromatherapy with its relaxing properties will always be one of them.
