Have a healthy diet with fresh and unprocessed foods, take a multivitamin, eat foods high in vitamin C or take a daily supplement, stay out of the sun or limit exposure, get enough rest and drink plenty of fluids, avoid intake of soft drinks, sugar and caffeine.

TEA. Apply a tea bag over the cold sores. Tannic acid, an antiviral agent that can be found in tea is effective for cold sore treatment. Healthy diet. Any infection can decrease with proper consumption of healthy diet. To reduce the infections try to include notorious and healthy food. Along with the proper diet exercise and adequate amount of rest is also necessary.

Therefore, you have to supplement your diet with vitamins, antioxidants, nutrition's, exercise and sleep. High intake of arginine food like peanuts, chocolates, peas, grains, oatmeal, seeds and whole-wheat products should be avoided. Regular diet need to be supplemented with vitamins and nutrition's.

You can use a cream which will help heal the cold sore while reducing inflammation and soreness, such as tea tree oil or lemon balm.
