Intake of essential fatty acids is necessary in any balanced diet, and for anyone who would like to improve or reduce any cellulite problems. Cellulite problems are common and can hit women of all types and sizes whether they be fat or thin, young or old. Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are what are called the "good fats" and cannot be produced within the human body. These EFAs interact and support the cardiovascular, immune, reproductive nervous. As humans we need these EFAs to help regulate the heart rate, blood pressure, and many other bodily functions. They are also needed to regulate inflammation and help the body in fighting infections.
Common Sources of EFAs
The two EFAs are Omega-3 commonly called linolenic acid, and Omega-6 which is called linoleic acid. The common source for these EFAs are flaxseed oils, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, avocados, salmon, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, among others.
Benefits of EFAs
They help in the formation of cell walls, make them flexible and supple, and help to improve blood circulation. They are also used in the treatment of arthritis, premenopausal syndrome, and some skin disorders like psoriasis. Because EFAs attract water to dehydrated cells, and prevent further water loss, the chances of getting cellulite diminishes. This action of the EFAs is what helps them form the cell walls of the body.
EFAs only a part of the Solution
Of course taking in EFAs (essential fatty acids) is only part of the solution to your cellulite woes. A combination of exercise, the right diet - that includes EFAs, and the proper outlook and lifestyle will make a great combination in the quest to get rid of cellulite forever. But the benefits of knowing what EFAs can do for you and your body is a good start. There are many benefits and no known side effects in absorbing EFAs, unlike many of the cellulite treatments offered which may be risky depending on the treatment. Taking in EFAs is good for the body and is an all natural way of keeping yourself fit and ready for each day.
